Donald Trump did it again.
Trump’s capacity for surprise was on full display.
And Donald Trump told a bad joke about Kamala Harris that brought a room to laughter.
Donald Trump agreed to appear at the National Association of Black Journalists conference knowing full well he would receive a hostile welcome.
That’s exactly what happened as soon as ABC’s Rachel Scott kicked off the interview with a series of Democrat Party talking points phrased like a question asking Trump why he was so much of a racist.
But Trump didn’t shirk in the face of rude treatment.
Trump gave as good as he got and even got the audience laughing along with his attacks on Kamala Harris.

Pundits noticed too.
Commentator Mike Cernovich pointed out that the vast majority of people in that room wanted to hate Trump from the moment he sat down.
But Cernovich observed that Trump treated the attendees like adults and acted like his authentic self which won over a portion of the audience.
“Trump went into a room of black journalists and others and treated them the same way he does everyone else. No pandering. No DEI treatment. As equals. Listen to the audience laugh. They didn’t BOOO like they did Mitt Romney under similar circumstances,” Cernovich wrote on X.
Fox News host Harris Faulkner was one of the panelists who questioned Trump.
Faulkner appeared on the network after the event to offer her analysis of the event.
Faulkner agreed with Cernovich saying Trump won points by showing up to an audience not inclined to support him and that the audience got a kick out of some aspects of Trump’s performance.
“So, what I loved about what you couldn’t see today, was how much of that audience was enjoying the moment of hearing from a candidate that they might not always agree with,” Faulkner explained.
Faulkner also admitted that Trump even earned the respect of some audience members for showing up – Kamala Harris refused to participate – and sharing his views.
“And that is the whole point. That is the growth of journalism, to be able to listen and question those things that you may not know about it because you don’t often talk to that person or those people. That was the goal here. So, for all of that pushback, young journalists that I’m talking to after the event are saying, ‘Well, we’re glad he’s here,’” Faulkner concluded.
