Kamala Harris experienced a surge of momentum since becoming the presumptive Democrat nominee for President.
But Donald Trump still had a trick or two up his sleeve to slow her roll.
And Donald Trump hit Kamala Harris like a ton of bricks with this breathtaking announcement.
Just like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris adopted a strategy of “debate me, coward” towards Donald Trump.
Trump had said any agreement between him and Joe Biden to debate on ABC September 17 was no longer valid now that Biden was out of the race.
Harris claimed if Trump wanted to attack her record, he should “say it to my face” on a debate stage.
Trump took Harris up on that offer saying he agreed to a September 4 debate on Fox News.
Trump said he wouldn’t debate on ABC due to the conflict of interest over Trump suing ABC and anchor George Stephanopoulos for defamation.
“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” Trump wrote.
Trump said the debate would take place in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum as moderators.
The rules would be the same as Trump’s debate with Biden on CNN with the only difference being there would be a live audience.
“The FoxNews Debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined. The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!” Trump added.
Trump also said the September 4 date was important since early voting began on September 6 and Americans should see the candidates faceoff before they cast their ballots.
“I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th. This date is convenient and appropriate in that it is just prior to the September 6th start of Early Voting in the 2024 Presidential Election. I look forward to seeing everyone on September 4th, in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!” Trump concluded.
The ball is not back in Kamala Harris’ court.
Harris demanded a debate and Trump gave her one.
Now Republicans believe it’s time for Harris to put-up or shut up.
