Whoopi Goldberg went out on a limb.
It didn’t do her any favors.
And Whoopi Goldberg suffered one public embarrassment she will never recover from.
As American Media Watchdog reports:
Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God called out Joe Biden and his apologists for the Hunter Biden pardon.
Charlamagne said he didn’t blame Biden for pardoning his son.
But Charlamagne did call out Biden for lying to the public.
“He didn’t believe that, but he didn’t have to volunteer that lie to begin with,” Charlamagne said during an appearance on The View.
Whoopi Goldberg pushed past with a North Korean state media level defense that Biden didn’t lie; he just changed his mind after claiming he wouldn’t pardon his son.
“Only because you don’t know that it was a lie. We don’t know why he changed,” Goldberg replied.
Charlamagne couldn’t believe Goldberg would insult his and the viewing audience’s intelligence with such an answer,
“You really think he just changed his mind over Thanksgiving weekend?” an incredulous Charlamagne shot back.
Goldberg claimed Biden decided to pardon Hunter Biden as a spur of the moment deal out of frustration with some nonexistent double-standard that Goldberg never bothered to explain.
“No, I’m going to tell you what I think. I think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over. And this is just my feeling because at some point you get to the place where you just go, so I’m just going to follow the straight and narrow always because that’s what’s expected of Democrats,” Goldberg stated.
Charlamagne had a simple comeback.
And that was that he held Democrats to a higher standard because that’s what Joe Biden had campaigned on – being the candidate who would defend norms and uphold democracy.
“But that’s their fault. They’re the ones that go out there and they stand on this moral high ground. They don’t have to do that,” Charlamagne declared.
When Goldberg asked what was the moral high ground Democrats claim, Charlamagne reminded Goldberg that for the last four years every Democrat beat their chest about how they were the sentinels that defended the rule of law from the authoritarian Donald Trump.
“The moral high ground is, uh, nobody’s above the law. I respect what the jurors is saying. Um, he didn’t, he don’t have to do that,” Charlamagne exclaimed.
Joe Biden showed that was all a lie with the Hunter Biden pardon.
And it left Charlamagne asking a simple question of political tribalists like Goldberg.
“Why can’t you say when Democrats are wrong? And why can’t Republicans say when Republicans are wrong?” Charlamagne wondered.
