Donald Trump showed he intends to drain the swamp with his cabinet picks. But the swamp is fighting back. And Tulsi Gabbard faced one attack that is one of the worst dirty trick ever pulled. As Conservative Reboot reports: The Intelligence Community Isn’t Fond of Tulsi Gabbard Tulsi Gabbard has spent nearly her whole career in politics trying to unwind the surveillance state that has proliferated in the U.S. since the 9/11 attacks. She believes, as most people outside of D.C. do, that American citizens should not be targeted by their own government for surveillance, and that the government should leave them alone. The amount of information that has come out about the surveillance the government is involved in is staggering. Gabbard believes that it is inappropriate, and the majority of Americans agree with her. But the agencies that are directly involved in this surveillance aren’t happy that Trump nominated her. Now there are some nasty rumors floating around D.C. that could have only come from them. They are trying to completely destroy Gabbard’s nomination before it ever really gets going in the first place. And apparently there are some Republican senators who are on their side in opposing Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination. Republican Senators Side With the Deep State Against Gabbard According to The Hill, “Some senators are skeptical about former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s choice to be director of national intelligence, based on her foreign policy positions and past interactions with enemies of the U.S.The Hill’s Al Weaver reports. Gabbard, a former House Democrat who endorsed Trump this year, has been a controversial Cabinet selection for weeks, but much of that time was clouded by Gaetz’s ethics challenges.” They have a right to be skeptical of her, of course. But it is the things that are being said about her that are truly shocking. Gabbard is being accused of some very ugly things, even though no proof of these things has been released. The article continues, “After the Florida firebrand’s resignation from the House and withdrawal from Cabinet consideration, nearly a half-dozen Senate Republicans and aides predicted Gabbard’s confirmation would be uphill. And that was before Senate unease about Hegseth’s alleged past behavior erupted in the news media over the weekend and surfaced Tuesday on Capitol Hill. “‘Behind closed doors, people think she might be compromised. Like it’s not hyperbole,’ a Republican aide told The Hill. ‘There are members of our conference who think she’s a [Russian] asset.’” These are the type of accusations that nobody should ever make unless they are absolutely convinced it is true, and no evidence has been released that she is a Russian asset. If they are going to accuse her of this publicly, they should release the evidence publicly, instead of turning public opinion against her without providing facts to back it up. One can only assume that this is coming from the intelligence community, and there is no way to know unless they release the information whether it is actually true or not. Tulsi Gabbard served in the U.S. military and in Congress, and she deserves the benefit of the doubt unless these people can prove their wild accusations.
