Secret Service Performs Major Security Undertaking at Charlie Kirk’s Funeral

The Secret Service exists to protect the President.

Now the Secret Service faced a major challenge.

And the Secret Service leapt into action to secure Trump for one shocking reason.

As West Wing Daily reports:

Charlie Kirk’s funeral is going to be a very large event, held at an NFL statement that seats tens of thousands of people, and this is going to pose a major challenge for the Secret Service.

They are going to be charged with making sure harm doesn’t come to Kirk’s family or to any of the people in attendance.

And they have snapped into action to make sure they have all the logistics in place to do their job well and protect everyone.

This is a very unusual situation for the Secret Service, as it’s a far different type of venue and a far different type of event than they are used to securing.

And it came together so quickly, due to the unexpected nature of Kirk’s death, that unlike major party conventions, they haven’t had months to prepare.

A new article shows the challenges they are facing in making sure the venue is secure for the upcoming funeral.

According to CNN, “President Donald Trump, high-level administration and Republican Party officials, and top political influencers are expected to converge in Arizona on Sunday to honor Charlie Kirk, the assassinated conservative activist.”

“But the memorial service, to be held at the massive State Farm Stadium in Glendale, just outside Phoenix, is going to pose an enormous test for law enforcement, particularly the US Secret Service, an agency already facing strain and enormous pressure.”

The Secret Service is trained to handle all kinds of different events and situations, but this is certainly a unique one that they don’t face very often.

That doesn’t mean they won’t be able to get the job done, but it means they are having to go the extra mile to protect the people at the venue.

The article continues, “It remains to be seen whether the memorial will be designated as a national special security event, which would provide additional resources from the federal government, working in tandem with state and local authorities.”

“The stadium — home to the Arizona Cardinals NFL team — has a retractable roof, meaning it can be enclosed or open air. The memorial, announced Saturday by Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, is coming together quickly, scrambling law enforcement to arrive on site, position magnetometers and other resources, survey the interior and exterior of the space, and prepare a fulsome plan to combat risk.”

Kirk would certainly want everyone at an event like this to be safe, and so the Secret Service is trying hard to make sure people can show up and honor his life without any risk to their own.

It’s a hard task, especially with the increased polarization and violence in this country, but they are trying their absolute best.

Tens of thousands of people will be there to honor Kirk, and they will certainly appreciate the law enforcement at the event protecting them.
