J.D. Vance Reveals He Was the One Who Broke the News of Charlie Kirk’s Death to President Trump

President Trump picked J.D. Vance as his Vice President, knowing he could trust Vance in the toughest of situations.

Vance proved that.

And J.D. Vance had to tell Donald Trump the worst news of his life.

As American Media WatchDog reports:

J.D. Vance Was the One to Inform Trump Charlie Kirk Had Died

Charlie Kirk was only 31 years old, a former high school athlete, and someone who was young and full of life, with a wife and two young children.

But his life was taken in a terrible act of violence as he was talking to students at Utah Valley University in a moment that left the entire nation shocked.

Donald Trump had heard about the shooting, but he did not yet know the outcome of it until J.D. Vance walked into his office.

Vance knew this was going to be perhaps the most difficult news he’d ever shared with Trump.

He told Trump that the doctors were unfortunately not able to save Kirk’s life due to the severity of his injuries.

Charlie Kirk was dead at the devastatingly young age of 31.

And it was with great regret that Vance told the story to the entire nation of how he informed Trump of Kirk’s death on that fateful day.

Trump Had a “Stoic” Reaction to the News

According to the New York Post, “Vice President JD Vance described the ‘very tough moment’ he delivered the news to President Trump in the Oval Office that Charlie Kirk was assassinated, as he comforted White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.”

Here’s part of what he said: “I was the person who walked into the Oval Office and said, ‘Mr. President, I’m sorry, but Charlie’s passed. That was a very tough moment.”

Kirk had been a longtime supporter of Trump and had gotten very close to a number of people within the administration and beyond.

His death left people horrified, and many became scared that they too would be targeted by fringe people with radical views.

Vance continued, “I looked at my phone and there were a bunch of group chats — frankly, a lot of them that Charlie was in — where they said ‘Charlie, praying for you, brother. Hope you’re doing OK.’” I opened up my door and someone said, ‘Charlie’s been shot’ and it hit me like, ‘this is very real, this is very serious.’”

“The president is very stoic. He was clearly upset. He just went quiet and let it absorb a little bit. And then just shook his head and said, ‘Man, he was a good guy and we really loved him.’”

If losing Charlie Kirk was hard for millions of people who had never met him, it must have been exponentially more difficult for the people who had a personal relationship with him.

Trump and Vance knew him very well, as did their families, and it must have been an absolute gut punch for them to find out what had happened.

People will never forget Charlie Kirk, and his legacy lives on through his family and his friends.

And J.D. Vance will surely never forget the moment he had to tell Donald Trump about Kirk losing his life.
