Pete Hegseth Made One Change to the Military That No One Saw Coming

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s job is cleaning up the woke mess Joe Biden left behind.

Hegseth knew just where to start.

And Pete Hegseth made one change to the military that no one saw coming.

As West Wing Daily reports:

The military is apparently adopting the New York Yankees approach to grooming after a new order that has been handed down from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

The Yankees famously forced their players to remain clean shaven and keep their hair short under owner George Steinbrenner, and now Hegseth is taking a page from that playbook for the military.

Hegseth has handed down an order that would require new grooming standards for the military, and it is apparently going to be enforced very seriously.

He wants troops to be serious about their jobs and to present themselves that way, which seems to be why he has decided to do this.

This could be a big change for some troops who will have to change their appearance in order to comply, but many people will be happy about it as well.

One thing is for sure – Pete Hegseth is not afraid to shake things up and do things a new way.

According to The Hill, “The Pentagon on Monday unveiled new grooming standards, which now require service members to be clean shaven and neat in presentation for a proper military appearance.”

“Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a statement Monday that following ‘a rapid force-wide review of military standards, ’ Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ‘recently directed the Services to implement the following grooming standards for facial hair.’”

This has not been the only change that Hegseth has implemented in his time as the Secretary of Defense, but it is one that will have a big impact on the lives of troops.

They are used to having to comply with military standards, however, and there likely won’t be much of an issue getting them to comply with this as well.

The article continues, “‘The grooming standard set by the U.S. military is to be clean shaven and neat in presentation for a proper military appearance,’ Hegseth said in a quote in Parnell’s statement.”

“‘Commanders must apply consistent criteria and appropriately consider the Department’s interests in safety and uniformity when authorizing individual exceptions, ’ Parnell said in his Monday statement.”

It remains to be seen whether this will draw a serious backlash from the left or whether it will be grudgingly accepted by people who do not like the politics of Trump or Hegseth.

There likely are bigger fish to fry for Congressional Democrats who oppose Trump, but that hasn’t stopped them in the past from chasing squirrels and picking fights that aren’t worth their time.

Hegseth is certainly not popular among Democrats in Congress who opposed his nomination and continue to feel he’s not the right man for the job, and this move could provoke a reaction.

But it also might fly under the radar in the face of bigger fights. Time will tell how this is received, but either way, the military is changing.
