Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is eying a run for higher office.
Ocasio-Cortez picked up support from surprising quarters,
And you won’t believe who just endorsed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
As Great American Digest reports:
A Data for Progress poll shows Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez leading Chuck Schumer by 19 points in a hypothetical 2026 Senate primary matchup.
Ocasio-Cortez’s support is real.
The controversial fundraising platform ActBlue, which is the subject of a congressional investigation, reported that Ocasio-Cortez received 71,000 donations from New York State in the first six months of 2025.
Those donations were distributed equally throughout the state, demonstrating that she has a broad base of support and that polls showing her leading Schumer were no fluke.
.@AOC had 71,000 donations via ActBlue from New York State in the first six months of 2025. Here's the distribution of where they are located. Short answer… everywhere. Makes the foundation for a hell of an organizing operation if wanted. https://t.co/0PPZrKxhZ9 pic.twitter.com/EkS043dRNx

Republicans were more than happy to troll Schumer over the possibility of Ocasio-Cortez challenging him in a primary.
Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett said he would support Ocasio-Cortez against Schumer after Schumer threw up a series of procedural roadblocks to slow-walk the confirmation of hundreds of key Trump nominees.
“I am frustrated on behalf of the American people that Congress, the Senate, frankly, can’t seem to get its act together and get those nominees, because they’re doing the work for the American people,” Fox News host Kevin Corke said to Burchett. “We’re talking about real jobs, real policy positions that have to be meted out. What happened and why are they going on recess?”
“And every time we delay, slow down that fact, it’s very discouraging to the American public,” Burchett replied. “I’m looking forward to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez primarying him very soon and seeing him run out of town because no one believes what he says. He’s holding it up for negotiations.”
President Trump threw gasoline on the fire by calling Schumer an extortionist for trying to hold up the nominees to shakedown Republicans for increasing spending.
Trump told Republicans to change the Senate rules to speed up the confirmation process when the Senate returns in September.
“Politically embattled Senator, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, wants the Republicans to pay, as EXTORTION, TWO BILLION DOLLARS for the Radical Left Democrats to approve the hundreds of Trump Appointments who have been waiting for months, and are raring to go. This has never happened before. There has never, in U.S. history, been such a delay. THEY ARE EXTORTIONISTS! Republicans must create legislation to get out of the grasp of these country-hating THUGS. Move quickly!!! MAGA,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Chuck Schumer’s political troubles with his fellow Democrats began when he waved the white flag in a fight where Trump won a bill to freeze spending.
If Schumer gets rolled again by President Trump and Senate Republicans in a confirmation battle, the number of Democrats calling for his ouster and urging Ocasio-Cortez to challenge him in a 2026 primary will only increase.
