Trump Says Vice President Vance Likely to Win 2028 GOP Presidential Nomination

President Trump says he won’t run for a third term.

The question quickly became who would inherit the MAGA movement in the next Presidential Election.

And Donald Trump just made this shocking 2028 endorsement.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

Political reporters and pundits can’t help but speculate about the next election.

Even though President Trump has three-and-a-half years left on his term, all eyes in the political media are shifting to 2028 when both parties will hold open Presidential primaries.

During a CNBC interview, Trump said he wasn’t going to seek a third term.

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked President Trump if he would go one step further and clear the 2028 Republican field by endorsing J.D. Vance as his successor.

“You said this morning that you probably won’t be running for a 3rd term,” Doocy began. “This weekend, Secretary of State [Marco] Rubio said that he thought JD Vance would be a great nominee. You could clear the entire Republican field right now. Do you agree that the heir apparent to MAGA is JD Vance?”

President Trump deftly handled the question by showing his inclination to eventually endorse Vance, but without actually saying those words since the election was so far off.

Trump said Vance was the current favorite and that he could see Secretary of State Marco Rubio joining Vance on the ticket as his running mate.

“Well, I think most likely, in all fairness, he’s the vice president,” Trump stated. “And I think Marco is also somebody who maybe would get together with JD in some form. I also think we have incredible people — some of the people on the stage right here.

Trump wants all the focus on the 2026 election and keeping control of Congress, but Trump praised Vance and called him the “favorite” to be the next nominee.

“So it’s too early, obviously, to talk about it,” Trump declared. “But certainly he’s doing a great job, and he would probably be favorite at this point.”

Rubio is the one Republican that establishment RINOs would like to get behind as their 2028 standard bearer.

But in an interview with Lara Trump, Rubio essentially endorsed Vance as the nominee in 2028.

“I think JD Vance would be a great nominee … if he decides he wants to do that,” Rubio told the President’s daughter-in-law. “I think he’s doing a great job as vice president. He’s a close friend, and I hope he intends to do it.”

A recent Gallup poll found that Vice President Vance was just as popular with Republicans as President Trump.

Vance was also far more popular than Rubio, not just with Republicans, but with the general electorate as well.

If Vice President Vance runs for President, it looks like Trump is ready to endorse him.

That scenario means Vance will face no serious opposition.

This will allow Vance to build out a get out the voter operations in the battlegrounds, raise three billion dollars right off the bat, and pummel the Democrat nominee for President with hundreds of millions of dollars in attack ads before they officially accept the nomination at the convention, a period of time in which the Democrat candidate doesn’t have access to the full party fundraising apparatus to fund a counterattack.
