Nancy Pelosi is one of the most polarizing and unpopular politicians in America.
Pelosi just generated another fiasco for Republicans to campaign against.
And Nancy Pelosi picked one ugly fight with the Church that will leave you red with rage.
Like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi likes to claim she’s a devout Catholic.
Critics contend there isn’t much evidence that this is anything more than a talking point.
Pelosi told the National Catholic Reporter that she defied San Francisco archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s 2022 instruction to priests to deny the sacrament of Holy Communion to politicians that support abortion.
And like Joe Biden, Pelosi supports unrestricted abortion on demand up until the day of birth.
Neither one can name a restriction on abortion that they support.
Archbishop Cordileone knows the Catholic Church holds an unimpeachable position on defending the sanctity of life from natural birth to death.
As a Catholic, Pelosi would know this as well.
Pelosi would also know that parishioners are supposed to be in a state of grace when they receive communion.
The Catholic Church teaches that abortion is murder and many Bishops believe politicians who support the taking of unborn life facilitate this horror and are thus ineligible to receive communion.
Pelosi claimed she didn’t care about the Church’s teachings and that she would do whatever she wanted.
“I received Communion anyway. That’s his problem, not mine,” Pelosi explained. “My Catholic faith is, Christ is my savior. It has nothing to do with the bishops.”
Pelosi claimed that even though she supports abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, and transgender surgeries for children, she’s still in good graces with the Catholic Church’s teachings.
“My faith is always with me. I always feel there’s an angel on my shoulder,” Pelosi added.
“That spark of divinity is what I respect in every person, especially if they respect it in themselves,” Pelosi continued.
Pelosi never put two-and-two together, which was that both she and Joe Biden defying the Church’s teaching on abortion, homosexual marriage, and transgender surgeries for kids was why Donald Trump won Catholic voters 56 to 41 percent after losing them 52 to 47 in 2020.
The former Speaker of the House argued Trump flipped the Catholic vote because some didn’t turn out.
“A lot of people didn’t vote,” Pelosi falsely claimed. “That subtracted from our number, and that may be why we have fewer Catholics voting that way.”
Democrats alienated Catholics just like they alienated Hispanic voters – Trump won 46 percent of Latinos – with their extreme woke agenda.
And the fact that a party leader like Pelosi won’t admit this reality shows the party is in for a painful next few years.
