All hell is breaking loose in the Democrat Party.
Senator John Fetterman is at the center of the turmoil.
And John Fetterman may be about to retire due to one terrifying health issue.
Famed Democrat Party strategist James Carville blew his top over Fetterman being the first Democrat to meet with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Fetterman didn’t just sit down with Trump.
Fetterman told reporters he would strongly consider supporting Donald Trump’s bid to acquire Greenland and also voted with 37 other Democrats to open debate on the Laken Riley Act, a bill that would require law enforcement to detain illegal aliens arrested for burglary or theft.
Carvill tore into Fetterman on his Political War Room podcast, claiming Fetterman was still experiencing cognitive impairment from the stroke he suffered in May of 2022.
In his rant, Carville reminded listeners that Fertterman defended the idea of Joe Biden remaining in the Presidential race, even telling Carville to “f*** off” in December 2023 after Carville suggested Biden drop out of the race.
“[Fetterman] told me to shut the f*** up. And at the time, I took mild offense at it. I no longer take offense. I honestly think the guy’s had a major health issue in his life and I think he just wants to get his name in the paper,” Carville stated.
Carville explained that Fetterman was two-faced after running for Senate in 2022 as a socialist acolyte of Bernie Sanders and now rebooting his persona to come off as a Trump-curious centrist.
“And you know, he was the most progressive person. He was a Bernie bro, then he was this and now he wants to meet with Trump. And he’s fighting with me, fights with the governor,” Carville exclaimed.
Carville theorized that Fetterman was in such mental decline, that maybe he was trying to acquire as much fame and notoriety as possible before his term was up and had to retire from office.
“No idea what his current state of his health is, but I think he’s like, ‘I’m just going to do everything I can to get as much publicity I can and run this thing as hard as I can until my term’s up in 2026.’ That’s what I think,” Carville added.
Co-host Albert Hunter had a different idea, telling Carville that he thought Fetterman saw Pennsylvania shifting right in 2024 and would find some meaningless gestures to vote with the Republicans on so he could virtue signal about how he was the reasonable one and all the other Democrats were woke extremists.
“It’ll be very few times where his vote is decisive,” Hunt declared. “But what he does is he’ll give the Republicans a patina of bipartisanship on some things, and he’ll just be a — he’ll be a nuisance.”
Carville disagreed saying he thinks all Fetterman cares about is seeing his name in lights.
“If he gets his name in the paper or gets on the news of whatever — that’s, I think, that’s his short, immediate and long-term goal,” Carville responded.
Carville sounds very angry with Fetterman and bitterness may be getting the better of him.
The more likely scenario is the one Hunt proposed – where Fetterman is a political shapeshifter hunting around for ways to look bipartisan without actually crossing the Democrat Party base on core issues.
