If there is one thing socialists like Ocasio-Cortez can’t stand, it’s a lack of party loyalty.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered one ultimatum that shook the Democrat Party to its core.
Ocasio-Cortez was furious over the fact that two Democrats – Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez from Texas – voted with Republicans in support of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act bans biological males from competing in girls’ sports.
A July 2023 Gallup poll showed 70 percent of Americans support this proposition.
And yet 206 out of 208 Democrats taking the losing side of a 70/30 issue wasn’t good enough for Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez made it clear she expects 100 percent opposition to Donald Trump’s agenda 100 percent of the time, calling any Democrat who opposed men playing women’s sports “ninnies.”
“We can’t be ninnies about this,” Ocasio-Cortez fumed in an interview with The Independent.
“These are just the early days. Trump hasn’t even been sworn in yet, and if a little bitty sports bill was gonna make Dems defect, we’re not in good shape.”
The most devastating ad of the 2024 election cycle was one from Trump’s campaign that attacked Kamala Harris for supporting taxpayer funded transgender surgeries for prisoners.
Democrats have empirical evidence that supporting the transgender agenda is a losing issue.
Yet wokeism is the left’s new religion and Ocasio-Cortez is one of the high priestesses.
In a floor speech attacking the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, Ocasio-Cortez absurdly claimed that supporting this bill would strip away women’s rights instead of protecting their rights to compete in sports on a level playing field.
“Republicans who have voted consistently against the violence against women act, who have taken away the right of all women to choose and have control over their own body, who, as women are bleeding out in parking lots across the country, standing there, allowing us to die, now want to pretend today that they care about women!” Ocasio-Cortez ranted on the House floor.
Ocasio-Cortez then smeared the 70 percent of Americans who support keeping men out of women’s sports as bigots.
“Bigoted folks love this bill. Assaulters love this bill, but also CEOs love this bill. Because Los Angeles is on fire right now, and this is the No. 1 priority this majority has,” Ocasio-Cortez raged on.
Democrats hold no power in Washington.
Every state in America shifted to the right in 2024 – partly as backlash against the woke left.
But Ocasio-Cortez appointed herself the enforcer of party discipline and made it clear that any Democrat who stepped out of line would face public humiliation.
