The criminal case against Donald Trump in Georgia is falling apart.
It’s all due to the conduct of Fulton County DA Fani Willis.
And now Fani Willis’ response to a sex scandal just made everything worse.
As Black Eye Politics reports:
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis went after the estranged wife of Willis’ alleged lover and hired special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, claiming she was “interfering” with the prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
Jocelyn Wade, wife of Nathan Wade, served a subpoena to the District Attorney to testify as part of the couple’s divorce proceedings.
Willis filed a motion seeking to quash the subpoena, claiming Jocelyn Wade was simply attempting to harass her.
“Joycelyn Wade is using the legal process to harass and embarrass District Attorney Willis, and in doing so, is obstructing and interfering with an ongoing criminal prosecution,” the motion said.
In response, Joycelyn Wade refuted Willis’ arguments as being “disingenuous,” noting that evidence clearly shows “Ms. Willis was an intended travel partner” of her husband.
Even legal analyst Elie Honig, while appearing CNN on Friday, said Willis’ response to the divorce subpoena is “very improper.”
“I think the DA is far out of line here. She receives a subpoena in a divorce case. The subpoena is not an accusation. A subpoena means you’re a witness who has relevant information. Clearly, she has information about Mr. Wade, about his finances, about whatever his current relationships may be,” Honig said on Anderson Cooper 360°.
Bank statements reveal Nathan Wade purchased plane tickets to Miami and San Francisco in Willis’ name.
“Willis and Wade have traveled personally together to such places as Napa Valley, California, Florida and the Caribbean and Wade has purchased tickets for both of them to travel on both the Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruise lines,” alleged the motion.
“It is regrettable that Ms. Willis has filed such an inflammatory Motion, which has left Defendant with no other choice than to respond forcefully and with supporting evidence in a case that is very personal in nature.”
So far, Fani Willis has not directly commented on the allegations against her, however, during a sermon at Big Bethel AME Church, Willis openly speculated that her political opponents were baiting her to use the “race card.”
“First thing they say, ‘Oh, she can play the race card now.’ But no, God, isn’t it them?” Willis asked behind the pulpit.
“Who’s playing the race card when they only question one [Wade]? Isn’t [it] them playing the race card?” she asked. “I’ve been doing almost 30 years [sic].”
Since 2022, Nathan Wade’s firm has been paid nearly $654,000 by the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.
