Radio host Hugh Hewitt knows Trump loves weighing in on the political drama and asked Trump about Chuck Schumer’s precarious position inside the Democrat Party.
Trump noted that when he first got introduced to politics, the pro-Israel lobby was the most powerful lobby in Washington.
Any politician that got crosswise with Israel was finished.
“If you go back a few years, you would say that could, you know, it’s never…when I was growing up as a young guy, I would say without question the most powerful lobby, most powerful without question was Israel in terms of the Congress, in terms of the Senate and the House,” Trump began.
But these days, Trump explained, the pro-Hamas caucus runs the Democrat Party.
It’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and the other pro-Hamas radicals who call the shots.
Trump joked that Schumer, who used to be a strong supporter of Israel, is now a “Palestinian.”
“Today, and the Senate’s hanging pretty tough, but the House is, you look at some of these people, including AOC plus three and all of these different people that are now, I mean, look at Schumer. He’s become a Palestinian,” Trump continued.
Trump joked that Schumer should wear the Keffiyeh scarf that the pro-Hamas radicals wear.
“I think he’s a Palestinian, actually. You should give him the garb. But I can’t believe that Schumer, of all the people, you look at the guy,” Trump continued.
The pro-Hamas mobs that stalk Jews on the streets and college campuses are the new center of gravity inside the Democrat Party.
Chuck Schumer’s attempts to curry favor with the pro-Hamas caucus failed.
Schumer’s approval rating sank to 17 percent.
A politician can’t fall that low in support unless their party turns on them.
And Schumer has major problems on the left.
The pro-Hamas fanatics despise Schumer, thinking he is too supportive of Israel.
Rank-and-file Democrats complained that Schumer lacked a spine because he surrendered on a bill to freeze government spending rather than wage a doomed-to-fail government shutdown.
Schumer’s low poll numbers and the growing fury on the left at Schumer’s leadership led to reports that Democrats were recruiting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to primary Schumer when he’s up for re-election in 2028.
A Data for Progress poll found Ocasio-Cortez crushing Schumer by 19 points in a potential 2028 Senate primary matchup.
But Ocasio-Cortez may be eying for a Presidential run instead.
Trump weighed in on that possibility and said even if Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t run, Schumer’s in such a weakened state that someone would challenge him.
“Well, the real question is, is he going to be challenged by AOC? Is he going to be challenged by somebody else, because I think he’s pretty weakened right now. He looks like hell,” Trump added.
