Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez exploded onto the political scene in the 2018 election.

But Ocasio-Cortez hinted she wasn’t a lifer in Congress.

And now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may leave Congress for the last reason anyone could guess.

A recent CNN poll found that Democrats view Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the leader of their party.

According to The Hill, a CNN poll found that “10 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents named Ocasio-Cortez as one person ‘who “best reflects the core values of the Democratic Party,” while 9 percent pointed to former Vice President Kamala Harris. Another 8 percent named Sanders, and 6 percent said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).”

It’s not hard to see why.

The Democrat base is most up in arms about two issues – President Trump’s executive orders banning biological males from playing girls’ sports and the deportation of an illegal alien MS-13 gang member to his home country of El Salvador.

Ocasio-Cortez offered the loudest opposition to a Republican bill to codify Trump’s order banning men from playing women’s sports.

And Ocasio-Cortez is publicly fuming about an illegal alien MS-13 gang member sitting in a jail cell in his home country.

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been sitting in a Salvadoran prison for over a month because the Trump Admin made a mistake. Now, the Admin is defying SCOTUS & refusing to bring him back. If we allow Trump to violate Kilmar’s rights, none of our rights are safe. Kilmar is all of us,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X.

Ocasio-Cortez is garnering buzz as a 2028 frontrunner on the Democrat side as she tours the country with Bernie Sanders at rallies that look suspiciously like a road test of a presidential campaign.

But now new signs are emerging that Ocasio-Cortez may be the Democrat Party nominee for president.

Number one is the fact that Ocasio-Cortez posted a boffo $10 million fundraising haul in the first quarter of 2025.

“Ocasio-Cortez’s team said she raised more than $9.5 million from 260,000 individual donors, with an average donation of $21. The progressive congresswoman enters the second quarter with $8.2 million cash on hand,” a report in The Hill read.

Democrats voted with their bank accounts that Ocasio-Cortez’s message of wokeism in schools and open borders is the one they want to put their money behind.

And second was a Yale University poll showing Ocasio-Cortez surging to second place behind Kamala Harris – who may not run for president at all – in a hypothetical 2028 presidential primary race.

Democrats don’t want to moderate after losing in 2024 to Donald Trump.

The left wants to double down on socialism and wokeism, which explains Ocasio-Cortez’s explosion in fundraising and the polls.
