President Trump wants the world to know the days of Joe Biden’s weakness on the global stage is over.
There was only one way to demonstrate this new reality.
And Donald Trump gave one ultimatum that is the worst news ever for this foreign country.
President Trump has stated he won’t allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.
Trump told reporters that America would support an Israeli-led military operation to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program if the terrorist government in Tehran builds a nuclear weapon.
“If it requires military, we’re going to have military,” Trump told reporters. “Israel will obviously be very much involved in that. They’ll be the leader of that.”
One of Trump’s singular achievements in his first term was keeping America out of new wars.
Trump resisted the warmongers’ demands for war with Iran after Iran shot down an unmanned drone.
And Trump made it clear that his preference for Iran is to negotiate a deal that eliminates Iran’s nuclear weapons program and prevents war from breaking out.
Reporters asked Karoline Leavitt about the prospect of talks and if the administration worried Iran would try and string Trump along.
Leavitt replied that Trump was in no mood for games and that Iran shouldn’t mistake his desire for a deal for weakness.
“I have spoken with the president and also his national security team who will be engaged in these discussions. These will be direct talks with the Iranians and I want to make that very clear. I spoke to the president last night about his goal when it comes to Iran,” Leavitt began.
President Trump is committed to diplomacy to resolve this standoff.
“He has reiterated to all of you publicly and also privately to his team at the White House that his ultimate goal and ultimate objective is to ensure Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon. The president believes in diplomacy, direct talks, talking directly in the same room in order to achieve that goal,” Leavitt continued.
However, Leavitt reiterated that Trump promised “hell to pay” if Iran refused to agree to a deal to end their nuclear weapons program.
“But he’s made it clear to Iranians and his national security team will as well that all options are on the table. Iran has a choice to make, you can agree to President Trump’s demand or there will be all hell to pay. That is how the president feels very strongly about it,” Leavitt concluded.
Iran took President Trump seriously.
Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met in Oman in a first step towards trying to work out a larger deal.
Witkoff said America’s position was that an Iranian nuclear weapon represented a red line.
“I think our position begins with dismantlement of your program. That is our position today,” Witkoff declared.
“Where our red line will be, there can’t be weaponization of your nuclear capability.” Witkoff concluded.
The Iranian government spoke through the state-run IRNA news agency and put out the message that they understood President Trump loud and clear.
IRNA reported that the meeting took place “in a constructive atmosphere based on mutual respect.”
Iran also admitted progress and openness to more talks.
“After more than two and a half hours of indirect negotiations, the heads of the Iranian and American delegations spoke for a few minutes in the presence of the Omani foreign minister as they left the talks,” the report went on to say.
Iran understands these need to be real negotiations.
In his first term Trump took out Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Qasem Soleimani after Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers.
If Iran tries to stall for time or play Trump for a fool, Iran knows Trump will make good on his threats.
