War Room host Steve Bannon maintains that Donald Trump is running for President again.
Bannon says a plan is in place.
And Steve Bannon revealed Trump had one secret weapon that would guarantee victory in 2028.
The 22nd Amendment bars a President from serving more than two terms – consecutive or not.
There are no Constitutional loopholes around this fact.
Despite this, Bannon continues to affirm that Trump will run for President again in 2028 and win a third term.
Bannon argued Trump’s tariff plan of returning manufacturing back to America would prove appealing to America.
NewsNation host Chris Cuomo disagreed and argued the American economy of the 21st century would be based on jobs in science, technology, engineering, and math – all STEM – which Cuomo argued meant Trump couldn’t follow through with his plan to cut taxes since the workforce needed massive retraining.
“The jobs of the future are STEM jobs,” Cuomo stated. “You have to prepare for them. So you’re not gonna be cutting people’s taxes and investing at the same time.”
The 2017 Trump tax cuts were historic as they provided the foundation of the greatest economic boom in history.
Bannon claimed that extending Trump’s tax cuts could include a tax increase on millionaires to fund tax cuts for working and middle-class Americans.
“This is being fought behind closed doors right now, and I’m telling you, with the massive tax cut, in addition, he’s going to give the working class and the middle class, the math only works out if you actually increase taxes on the wealthy,” Bannon began.
Bannon added that a tax increase on millionaires would prove politically popular and prove decisive in Trump’s 2028 campaign.
“You talked about the manufacturing. President Trump, I strongly – I believe will do it. And I think one of the things he talked about is he said politically, it might hurt him. Politically, it’s going to help him in his reelect in 2028,” Bannon concluded.
If Donald Trump is planning to run for a third term in 2028 on the platform of raising taxes that is news to Donald Trump.
Trump rejected both propositions in an interview with Time Magazine.
In response to a question about a third term, Trump said he didn’t believe in loopholes which all but foreclosed the talk of a third term.
“I’d rather not discuss that now, but as you know, there are some loopholes that have been discussed that are well known. But I don’t believe in loopholes. I don’t believe in using loopholes,” Trump stated.
Trumps also rejected the idea of a millionaires tax, telling Time that President George H.W. Bush lost re-election in 1992 after supporting a tax increase and Trump didn’t want to jeopardize the GOP’s chances in the 2026 midterm by supporting a tax increase that would anger voters.
“Well, I’ll tell ya, I certainly don’t mind having a tax increase, and the only reason I wouldn’t support it is because I saw Bush where they said, where he said “Read my lips” and he lost an election. He would have lost it anyway, but he lost an election,” Trump added.
“He got beat up pretty good. I would be honored to pay more, but I don’t want to be in a position where we lose an election because I was generous, but me, as a rich person, would not mind paying and you know, we’re talking about very little,” Trump stated.
