Kamala Harris’ first interview was shambolic despite the best efforts of CNN’s Dana Bash to hold her hand through the 41-minute chat. Thanks to Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote on a $1.9 trillion spending bill, inflation reached a 40-year high. Prices are up around 20 percent since Kamala Harris took over. And the most recent Gallup poll found 63 percent of Americans think the economy is getting worse. Every poll shows Donald Trump holds the advantage on the economy. Bash handed Harris an opportunity on a golden platter to try and get right with the voters. And Harris flubbed it once again. Harris fired off a jumble of words where she defended the economic performance over the last four years. “I maintain that, when we do the work of bringing down prescription medication for the American people, including capping the cost of the annual cost of prescription medication for seniors at $2,000 — when we do what we did in the first year of being an office to extend the child tax credits so that we cut child poverty in America by over 50%, when we do what we have done to invest in the American people and bringing manufacturing back to the United States so that we created over 800,000 new manufacturing jobs, bringing business back to America, what we have done to improve the supply chain so we’re not relying on foreign governments to supply American families with their basic needs, I’ll say that that’s good work. There’s more to do, but that’s good work,” Kamala Harris stated. Republican strategist and CNN commentator Scott Jennings immediately saw the political gold. Jennings posted an image on social media that is sure to make its way into campaign commercials this fall. The CNN chyron plastered on the screen read, “Harris stands by Biden administration’s economic record.” The best path to victory from Trump is linking Kamala Harris to Joe Biden. Harris is Joe Biden’s vice president and is now rhetorically tethering herself to the last four years.
