The big takeaway for Donald Trump from his first term in office was that personnel is policy.
Trump admitted he made mistakes in his hiring which allowed establishment RINOs and swamp loyalists to infiltrate his administration and throw monkey wrenches into his ability to put his MAGA policies into action.
Americans have been pleasantly surprised to see the ruthless efficiency with which Trump put his cabinet nominees in place in his second term.
But Trump also understood that having the right top-level people in place is meaningless if the bureaucracy is staffed with deep state loyalists since they’re the ones actually tasked with implementing the President’s directives.
That’s why there has been a housecleaning at the Justice Department and FBI.
Dozens of prosecutors and FBI officials who worked on the January 6 and Mar-a-Lago documents witch hunts were fired.
But these moves came before the Senate confirmed Kash Patel to head the FBI and Pam Bondi to serve as Attorney General.
So Trey Gowdy asked White House Senior Counselor Alina Habba that, since this was the case, who made the call on these firings.
“All right. Pam, Bondi, Kash Patel have not yet been confirmed. I suspect they both will be, but not yet. So the decision to fire federal prosecutors, remove or reassign Bureau agents is made being made by whom?” Gowdy asked.
Habba told Gowdy that the acting leadership at the Justice Department and the FBI carried out the firings as it was preposterous to think President Trump could trust a bunch of deep state operatives who shred the constitution in a crusade to imprison him and his supporters to carry out his agenda.
“Well, I mean, that’s a pretty basic question. We have acting DOJ officials that are appointed when they’re removed. Jack Smith resigned in a failure for his witch hunt for President Trump. He was also improperly put into space as special counsel,” Habba stated.
But Habba added that the ultimate direction was shaped by Donald Trump with the Presidential Personnel Office leading the way in implementing President Trump’s hiring strategy.
“But these decisions, remember, come from the government, and who is running the government? It’s President Trump. When you’re looking at anybody who is or is not America First, it’s a pretty simple line. The PPO office of the executive branch. They’re doing an amazing job,” Habba added.
“They’re hiring. We’ve hired 1000s of people. We have 10s of 1000s of resumes. But more importantly, we’re firing, and that is done by PPO, but ultimately, remember, President Trump is running this country now. He’s moving quickly to get good people in and bad people out. Elena Howard, thank you for joining us on the Sunday night,” Habba said.
After four years of nameless, unelected handlers running the country while Joe Biden suffered from senility, Habba wanted Americans to know the President was once again calling the shots.
