President Trump thought he could count on Trey Gowdy.
But that turned out not to be the case.
And Trey Gowdy just smacked Trump with one nasty curveball.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
A group of Democratic senators and Congress members produced a shocking video where they encouraged members of the military to defy President Trump.
In this video, Democrats Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), and Rep Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) never gave one example of a so-called “illegal order” Trump gave the military.
It’s the law that military members must not obey illegal orders.
But by not providing any evidence that President Trump issued an illegal order, these Democrats encouraged open rebellion and mutiny by pressuring troops to decide for themselves if they believed Trump’s orders were illegal and to refuse to obey.
Democrats consider President Trump an illegitimate President and think any order he gives is illegal.
If members of the military go into business for themselves and decide on their own if the President gave an illegal order, then the entire military chain of command breaks down.
Trump slammed these Democrats for “seditious behavior” and demanded they face arrest and trial.
“It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT.”
“This is really bad and Dangerous to our Country,” Trump added. “Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT”
“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” Trump continued.
The liberal media and Democrats tried to turn the tables by saying the real scandal was Trump calling Democrats, whom he believed carried out acts of sedition, to face the death penalty.
Former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy defended President Trump on Fox News, saying Trump called for a trial, due process, and a jury of their peers, and not some extrajudicial act of violence.
“I’m sure he meant after a trial by your peers, a jury trial by your peers, and after you have been found guilty,” Gowdy began.
Gowdy also laid the blame at the feet of the Democrats for making an incendiary video calling on troops to disobey President Trump’s orders.
“I mean, it was a stupid video. Look, you can’t get put to death for making a stupid video, or I’d be dead. I understand why the president is upset. It was a dumb video. I would advise him to ignore it,” Gowdy concluded.
