Tim Allen Thanks Erika Kirk for Showing Him How to Forgive the Man Who Killed His Father

Erika Kirk stepped up and filled the void left by her slain husband, Charlie.

She touched millions of Americans with her words and actions.

Now, Tim Allen revealed something about Erika Kirk that no one expected.

As American Media Watch Dog reports:

Erika Kirk’s eulogy was the emotional peak of Charlie Kirk’s funeral.

Before a crowd of more than 70,000 in attendance and millions watching on cable TV and live streams, Erika Kirk delivered a message about the power of following Jesus’ example of forgiveness in the wake of tragedy.

Erika Kirk wowed those in the State Farm Stadium and those watching at home when she announced that she forgave the left-wing terrorist who murdered her husband.

“That young man, that young man…” Erika Kirk stated.

Erike then quoted Jesus on the cross as the example she chose to follow.

“On the cross, our savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do,” Erika Kirk added.

“That man, that young man, I forgive him,” Erika Kirk added.

Erika explained that holding hate in her heart wouldn’t accomplish anything and that forgiveness is the path Charlie would have chosen.

“I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and is what Charlie would do,” Erika Kirk went on to say. “The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know, from the Gospel, is love and always love.”

Erika Kirk’s words hit home for Last Man Standing and Home Improvement star Tim Allen.

Allen made an emotional confession of his own when he said Erika Kirk’s words touched him and helped achieve closure on a tragedy from childhood as he was able to forgive the man who killed his father.

“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.”  That moment deeply affected me.  I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: “ I forgive the man who killed my father.” Peace be with you all,” Allen wrote on X.

Allen was 11 years old when his father died in 1964 when a drunk driver vehicle crashed into his father’s car.

After Charlie’s death, Erika proved to be an inspiration in a primetime speech where she vowed to carry on her husband’s legacy.

“You have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry,” Erika Kirk declared.

“To everyone listening tonight, across America, the movement my husband built will not die. It won’t. I refuse to let that happen. It will not die. All of us will refuse to let that happen,” Erika emphasized.

At her husband’s funeral, Erika Kirk provided a second inspiration of how to best follow in Jesus’ footsteps.
