Schiff traveled to San Francisco for a fundraiser at the home of attorney Joe Cotchett.
The trip went off the rails as Schiff got a firsthand lesson in the dangers of Democrat prosecutors not enforcing the law.
Thugs broke into Schiff’s car and stole his luggage which left him without a suit to wear to the event.
Everyone tried to make a joke out of the ordeal.
“I guess it’s ‘Welcome to San Francisco,’” Cotchett’s press agent Lee Houskeeper later told reporters.
“Yes, they took my bags,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported Schiff telling Cotchett and the crowd of donors in attendance. “But I’m here to thank Joe.”
Thankfully Schiff wasn’t in the vehicle when the criminals broke in to steal his luggage.
What happened was no laughing matter.
Staffers for Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) and Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) were carjacked at gunpoint in Washington, D.C. last October.
A street hooligan recently attacked the security detail for the mayor of San Jose on camera during an interview.
And Target announced it was closing stores in San Francisco, Oakland and the Bay Area’s Century Plaza Shopping Center due to out-of-control theft as criminals know they can steal since Democrat prosecutors won’t lock them up.
Target finally said enough was enough.
“In this case, we cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” Target’s statement announcing the store closures read. “We know that our stores serve an important role in their communities, but we can only be successful if the working and shopping environment is safe for all.”
“Despite our efforts, unfortunately, we continue to face fundamental challenges to operating these stores safely and successfully,” Target’s statement added.
Crime is a major issue in Democrat-run cities.
