The View Audience Applauds Maduro’s Capture

The View is a show that exists to feed its audience a steady diet of anti-Trump red meat.

But on one occasion, the unexpected occurred.

And The View audience cheered Donald Trump for a reason no one ever saw coming.

As American Media Watch Dog reports:

The View co-host Anna Navarro was one of the original Never Trumpers.

Navarro was a Bush supporter who ditched the GOP and Trump over her support for amnesty and false claims that Trump was a racist for wanting to build a wall along the southern border.

But Navarro is from Nicaragua, which lived under communist rule for years, and she made the rare move to support Trump in arresting the communist leader Maduro.

“For us, this is a very happy day when we see a dictator who has been part of oppressing and abusing the Venezuelan people for 25 years, when we see him in handcuffs and held to some sort of accountability, it brought me to tears,” Navarro declared. “It brought me great joy.”

But the era of good feelings didn’t last long, as Navarro and the other co-hosts had to find a way to criticize Trump,

“OK with the way that it was done,” co-host Sunny Hostin asked.

That’s where Navarro pivoted to attacking Trump.

“I think both things can be true,” Navarro replied, “I think you can criticize and ask questions and have concerns about the way it was done and what this means in the future.”

“I think you can still celebrate that this murderous, corrupt, sadistic son of a bitch is out of Venezuela —” Navarro said before the audience’s applause interrupted her.

“— because he has, I think there are eight million Venezuelan exiles all over the world. People have fled from this man’s tyrannical rule,” Navarro continued.

What upset Navarro was that Trump didn’t initiate a full regime change.

Navarro whined that Trump didn’t install María Corina Machado, the opposition leader whom Maduro stole the 2024 Presidential election from.

“So, for me, I am very disturbed by Donald Trump’s words about the opposition leader who legitimately won the elections that Maduro stole. He said that she and her party won the election. She said…that she, María Corina Machado, has no respect or support from the Venezuelan people. She won the election against this dictator by 70% of the vote!” Navarro exclaimed.

Trump rejected the idea of putting Machado in charge of the country because the armed forces and security services were still loyal to the Maduro regime.

If Trump imposed Machado’s rule on Venezuela, the country could break out into civil war and require American boots on the ground.

Trump so far has avoided regime change and nation-building in Venezuela.

That’s what Trump and his supporters think Americans should be applauding.
