Kayleigh McEnany faced another woke attack on America.
The left pushed their usual radical narrative.
And now she ripped it to shreds in classic fashion.

Mickey Mouse Is a Racist, but Drag Queens Are Fine
McEnany, the former press secretary for President Donald Trump, got her hands on a new report from the White House on the museum’s “extreme political activism” and ran through a list of the examples that angered her.
She called out an entertainment exhibit accusing Mickey Mouse of representing “long-standing traditions of blackface” and another exhibit that branded the Pilgrims “colonizers,” with the same exhibit referring to Thanksgiving as a “national day of mourning.”
Yet another exhibit called Christopher Columbus a “murderer,” “slaver,” “killer,” and “thief.”
But here’s where it gets really rich. There’s an exhibit featuring drag queens and half-nude women, and in another, a rubber crotch harness used for something that couldn’t even be said on air.
So Mickey Mouse gets smeared as a symbol of racism, but the museum has no problem putting explicit material in front of families who walked in expecting to see American history. That’s the Smithsonian in 2026.
The White House report specifically criticized what it described as “sexually suggestive material and other material inappropriate for young children” in and around the Entertainment Nation area, including video clips depicting drag queens. The report also pointed to online exhibits, including a two-piece crotch harness that was part of an exhibit called “Illegal to Be You: Gay History Beyond Stonewall.
The museum’s Entertainment Nation wing tells visitors that Mickey Mouse represents “vestiges of longstanding traditions of blackface minstrelsy,” that Wild West shows “turned the subjugation of Indigenous people into theater,” and that ukuleles are “a product of U.S. imperialism.”
A ukulele. An instrument. A product of imperialism. Your tax dollars at work.
George Washington Got Erased, but the Activists Got Prime Real Estate
McEnany called out the museum for what was conspicuously missing, reading directly from the report: “You go to the museum today, and you’ll find no major exhibit dedicated to America’s founding era, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, the Founding Fathers, the Continental Congress, the Pilgrims, the Puritans.”
“How do you leave that out of American history?!” she asked.
Good question. The answer, of course, is that you leave it out on purpose.
Her guest, White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley, said it makes sense “if you understand that they’ve turned the Smithsonian History Museum into an ideological project,” adding that “they view American history not as a triumph, but as a tragedy.”
Haley noted that, in the words of the museum’s own director, they view the Smithsonian as “a prime tool of social justice.”
The White House released a 162-page report, titled *Saving America’s Story*, published by the Domestic Policy Council as part of President Trump’s ongoing effort to reshape how American history is presented at federally supported cultural institutions ahead of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
Titled “Saving America’s Story: How Ideological Capture at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History Erases Our Heritage,” the report accuses the museum of anti-white bias and says the museum’s mission has been transformed “from straightforward historical education and scholarship toward an extreme political activism that seeks to transform our country.”
The report says the museum “no longer treats the American story as a shared national inheritance to be taught or celebrated but as a political instrument to divide, dispirit and discourage our citizens.”

And this is the institution that gets nearly a billion dollars a year in federal appropriations. The Smithsonian’s total budget for fiscal year 2026 is $1.86 billion, about $959.3 million of which is appropriated by the federal government.
What This Really Means for Families Who Trusted the Smithsonian
Think about what the Smithsonian actually is. The museum features everything from the original Star-Spangled Banner, first ladies’ inaugural gowns, and Abraham Lincoln’s top hat. Generations of American families have trusted it as a place to take their kids to learn about the country’s history.
And the left-wing activists running it took that trust and used it as a weapon.
When an institution with that kind of credibility tells school groups that Mickey Mouse is a racist symbol, that the Pilgrims were colonizers, that the Founders barely deserve a mention, and that drag queens and explicit sexual material deserve prominent placement, it’s not education. It’s indoctrination wearing a museum badge.
The Domestic Policy Council faults the National Museum of American History for underemphasizing the Founding Fathers and early colonial and Revolutionary history, for not being sufficiently celebratory of the country’s 250th anniversary, and for engaging in what it describes as “anti-white,” “illegal alien,” and transgender activism. The report also accuses the museum of trying to “indoctrinate” teachers and students through its exhibitions, programming, and teaching resources.
“No American wants the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History to be a system of ideological activism,” Haley said. “Unfortunately, the report demonstrates that is exactly what the Smithsonian’s flagship museum has become. During this 250th anniversary year of our heroic founding, the least we owe our Founding Fathers is an honest and inspiring account of who they were, what they did, and what they built.”
The Smithsonian’s response to all of this? A spokesperson said in a statement, “For more than 180 years, the Smithsonian has served the American public with nonpartisan and independent scholarship, and we remain committed to doing so.”
Nonpartisan. Right. The museum that calls Mickey Mouse a racist symbol and has no room for George Washington is going with “nonpartisan.”
The timing matters here too. America just celebrated its 250th birthday. The country that produced the Declaration of Independence, won two World Wars, put men on the moon, and built the greatest economy in human history deserves a national museum that actually celebrates those achievements. Instead, families visiting the National Mall get an activist seminar dressed up as history.
President Trump signed an executive order in March 2025 titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” and the *Saving America’s Story* report was the direct result of that order. The White House threatened to halt federal funding to the Smithsonian Institution if the museums did not submit the documents requested through the internal review.
That’s the right call. Institutions that use federal money to push left-wing ideology on American children while erasing the Founding Fathers don’t deserve a dime from the taxpayers they’re insulting.
And Kayleigh McEnany was right to call it out loud and clear. The American people have every right to know what’s being done with their money and what’s being done to their history.
