Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
Trump winning the election doesn’t end this feud.
And Donald Trump and Taylor Swift are on a collision course for one huge fight.
As Swamp Digest reports:
Like many people in her demographic, Taylor Swift is not a fan of Donald Trump and came out swinging against him during the campaign.
Swift gave her endorsement to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz and then took a few shots at Trump and J.D. Vance when she made the announcement on social media.
But now, even though the election is over, some in the media are trying to gin up a fight between Swift and Trump that will carry into his second term.
Swift has shown no indication that she’s interested in this manufactured controversy, but a Swift vs. Trump battle would give the media a lot to talk about.
In an op-ed for The Hill, one writer wrote: “Two convoluted, unrelated political events paved the way for Donald Trump’s decisive victory. Ultimately, both contributed to creation of the Trump vs. Taylor Swift Era — two mega-powerful people who know how to ‘Shake It Off,’ representing gender battles from opposite ends of the political playing field.”
“Swift’s endorsement of Harris and her Election Day voting instructions to legions of fans is symbolic and emblematic of a schism that will play out until Trump leaves office. Both Swift and Trump are well-versed in the art of ‘See What You Made Me Do’ — annihilating their enemies and emerging victorious and stronger than ever, even after being down,” the op-ed continued.
“In the Trump vs. Taylor Swift Era, there are bound to be political collisions between the pop icon and the president, reflecting the polarized state of America and the fallout from three pre-Election Day showdowns.”
The article reads more like a WWE promo than a political analysis.
And while there is a growing gender gap in terms of politics between men and women, the last thing the media should be doing is trying to exacerbate that.
America has had enough “political collisions” to last a lifetime.
Perhaps the author of this piece is genuinely trying to make a prediction about how she thinks Trump’s term will play out.
But Americans should be thinking about ways they can piece the country back together, not the “political collisions” between a young, female pop star and a senior-aged President of the United States.
