Democrats and the media organized an ambush at the debate for Donald Trump.

But when the dust settled, one thing became clear.

And Kamala Harris saw this disturbing post-debate poll that should scare her.

The snap polls showed Americans thought Kamala Harris won the debate.

But the margin wasn’t very impressive to indicate that it would prove decisive in the election.

One reason Kamala Harris didn’t land a knockout blow with her win like Donald Trump did against Joe Biden was because Harris simply delivered lines from her consultants that goaded Trump into diving down rabbit holes and losing his cool instead of talking about her own policies.

Even supporters like CNN’s Jake Tapper said after the debate that Kamala Harris failed to lay out a vision for how she was different than Joe Biden or how she would improve the lives of the American people.

“I’m not sure Harris necessarily did enough to fill in the blanks that undecided voters might have about specifics about her plans,” Tapper stated.

CNN’s post-debate poll showed there was meat on that bone as Donald Trump actually gained support with viewers on the issue of the economy, which is an issue voters tell pollsters is their top priority.

The economy and discussing policy more broadly is Kamala Harris’ big weakness.

That’s why Muir and Davis only asked one question on the economy in a 90-minute debate.

Instead, they focused on issues the media liberals care about such as January 6, the 2020 election, Trump’s statements from the 1980s about the Central Park 5.

Even Never-Trumpers saw the scam Muir and Davis tried to pull.

“These are elite Manhattan debate questions – the American people are suffering and can’t pay for groceries and deserve answers how it will get better. I don’t know what the hell this is but these moderators are doing the American people a grave disservice,” Meghan McCain wrote on X.

Muir and Davis avoided questions on the economy and kept the debate focused on Trump’s personality because that is Kamala Harris’s strongest chance at victory.

And the 2024 election could come down to which poll number was more important coming out of the debate – Americans thinking Kamala Harris won because of her presentation, or the one showing Donald Trump gained ground on the number one issue for voters.
