Poll Numbers Paint Bleak Picture for Congressional Democrats

The first month of President Trump’s second term was a rough go for the Democrat Party.

Trump entered the White House and immediately put Democrats on the defense by plowing ahead with his agenda at record pace.

And now Chuck Schumer will be scared straight by these awful poll numbers.

If Democrats are looking for signs the party can drag itself up off the mat, the latest Quinnipiac poll won’t offer any hint of a pulse.

Quinnipiac’s survey found barely one-fifth of Americans approve of how Democrats in Congress are doing their job with a super majority disapproving.

“Twenty-one percent of voters approve of the way the Democrats in Congress are handling their job, which is an all-time low, while 68 percent of voters disapprove and 11 percent did not offer an opinion,” Quinnipiac’s polling memo read.

That’s historic levels of unpopularity.

Democrats aren’t meeting voters where they are.

Americans want secure borders and low inflation.

Instead, Democrats picked their number one fight with Donald Trump to be defending the federal bureaucracy and trying to elevate deep state bureaucrats to the level of folk heroes, while also planting their flag as the champions of foreign aid for programs like comic books promoting transgenderism in Peru.

But Democrats are also in a bind as party regulars are furious with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

“In today’s poll, 40 percent of Democrats approve of the way the Democrats in Congress are handling their job, while 49 percent disapprove and 11 percent did not offer an opinion,” Quinnipiac also wrote.

Jeffries and Schumer are black holes of charisma that even the leftwing media mocks as cringe figures.

Democrats need to tack to the center on immigration, inflation, and cultural issues.

However, the left is furious and wants a fight.

“Among Democrats, 14 percent think the system is working either very well (1 percent) or somewhat well (13 percent), while 80 percent think it is working either not so well (32 percent) or not well at all (48 percent),” Quinnipiac’s polling memo continued.

But their base is demanding scorched earth war on Trump, and Jeffries and Schumer know they could lose their jobs in a Tea Party-style revolt unless they indulge the left’s lunacy.

“A dem tea party is gonna overthrow Hakeem and Chuck if they don’t turn shit up to 11. It might be healthy it might be self sabotaging idk but the demand in the market is too great to resist. Someone will fill it,” leftwing operative Tim Miller wrote on X.
