The latest drip-drip-drip came when Puck’s Peter Hamby reported on new polls conducted by OpenLabs – a firm that does polling for a constellation of Democrat groups – showing the floor falling out on Joe Biden’s poll numbers.
OpenLabs circulated a polling memo showing Trump leading in blue states like New Hampshire and Virginia.

“President Joe Biden’s support has started to tumble in key electoral battlegrounds in the wake of his disastrous debate performance in Atlanta, and Biden’s diminished standing is now putting previously noncompetitive states like New Hampshire, Virginia, and New Mexico in play for Donald Trump,” Hamby reported.
Hamby added that the polling showed other Democrats like Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer polling better than Biden.
“What’s more, Biden has taken such a reputational hit that he is polling behind other alternative Democratic candidates—including Kamala Harris and Gretchen Whitmer—in hypothetical one-on-one matchups against Trump,” Hamby added.
The polling memo even undersold how dire Biden’s predicament was.
What immediately stood out was the fact that Maine, Minnesota and Colorado were all within the margin of error.
That’s landslide territory.
The point of this leak was simply to add a data talking point Democrats could latch on to in calling Biden to bow out of the race.
Democrats know Biden has the delegates at the convention to win the nomination.
And Democrats also know that Biden and his family won’t willingly leave the race.
Their only chance for a new candidate is to make it clear to the Biden family that Joe Biden faces a succession of humiliating leaks about his cognitive decline followed by a landslide loss to Donald Trump.
Biden will then shuffle off the political stage viewed as a political embarrassment and one of the great villains in the history of the Democrat Party.
To spare Biden that fate, Democrat bigwigs and their press stenographers want Biden to leave on his own terms so they can say he accomplished his mission of denying Trump a second term in 2020 and patriotically put country over party.
