The reaction on the left to Charlie Kirk’s assassination was telling.
But some liberals faced consequences for their toxic rhetoric.
And one MSNBC got fired over this ugly attack on Charlie Kirk.
As American Media Watch Dog reports:
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk built the MAGA youth movement.
When Kirk became active in politics, Republicans could barely win 30 percent of the youth vote.
Thanks to Kirk fearlessly bringing the message that a belief in God, freedom, and America could lead to a better life where young people could own a home and raise a family in peace and prosperity, President Trump won 43 percent of the 18-29-year-old vote in the 2024 election.
Kirk “red pilled” a generation of young Americans.
The left knew they couldn’t defeat Kirk or his ideas, so they murdered him in broad daylight as Kirk spoke to a crowd at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback Tour.
It was a race to the bottom on MSNBC to see which on-air personality could offer the most disgusting commentary about Kirk’s murder.
The “winner” was former Republican and Bush campaign strategist turned Democrat Matthew Dowd.
Dowd smeared Kirk as “divisive” and engaging in “hate speech” because he opposed the transgender agenda.
“He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech, or sort of aimed at certain groups,” Dowd began.
Dowd appeared to say that Kirk had it coming because he believed biological sex was determined at birth, and a man can’t just become a woman because he says so.
“And I always go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” Dowd added.
Dowd basically said that Kirk got what he deserved.
“You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have, and then saying these awful words, and then not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in,” Dowd concluded.
Dowd wasn’t the only participant in MSNBC’s race to the bottom.
Anchor Katy Tur, leftwing commentator Keith Olbermann’s former girlfriend, was on the air when news of Kirk’s shooting broke.
Tur immediately dehumanized Kirk by calling him “divisive” to signal to MSNBC viewers that Kirk was somehow less than as a human being.
“Charlie Kirk is a divisive figure, polarizing, a lightning rod, whatever term you want to use. Why?” Tur asked her guest, NBC News political commentator Allan Smith.
Tur somehow found a way to disgrace herself and her network even further, claiming that Kirk’s shooting may have just been a happy accident caused by “a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration.”
On The Five, co-host Jesse Watters called Dowd’s comments disgusting and predicted MSNBC would fire Dowd within 24 hours.
“Dowd should be fired immediately; I expect him to be terminated within 24 hours. You can’t say Charlie deserved to die. You just can’t say that, and I hope he loses his job,” Watters stated.
Dowd didn’t last the rest of the day.
Within hours, MSNBC released a statement apologizing for Dowd’s comments and firing him as an on-air commentator.
“During our breaking news coverage of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, Matthew Dowd made comments that were inappropriate, insensitive, and unacceptable,” a statement from MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler read. “We apologize for his statements, as he has. There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”
