Homeland Security Secretary Kirsti Noem got aggressive in draining the swamp.
The left was unprepared.
And Kristi Noem made one bold move that hit Democrats like a ton of bricks.
Big Labor is the financial and organizational muscle of the Democrat Party.
According to OpenSecrets.org, public employee unions contributed $12,501,058 to Democrats in the 2024 election cycle compared to just $1,664,900 to Republicans.
These numbers don’t count what public employee unions funneled to 501(c)(4) NGOs that aren’t reported to the government.
In 2024, the Biden administration did another solid for public sector union bosses by granting monopoly bargaining rights to the 47,000 employees of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
That would allow Democrats access to another campaign windfall in 2026 and 2028.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem ended that giveaway to Big Labor.
In a memo to acting TSA Administrator Adam Stahl, Noem decreed that the sweetheart deal in which Biden agreed to put TSA employees under Big Labor’s thumb “is no longer applicable or binding and is hereby rescinded.”
Noem ordered Stahl to come up with a plan within 90 days to ensure this never happens again.
According to the memo, Noem instructed Stahl to “consider what actions may be taken, consistent with the law, to ensure that no future administration may permit TSOs to elect an exclusive representative or engage in collective bargaining absent an intervening statutory change.”
Homeland Security heralded the decision for worker freedom as TSA employees would no longer have to tithe to union bosses for the privilege of keeping a job.
“Thanks to Secretary Noem’s action, Transportation Security Officers will no longer lose their hard-earned dollars to a union that does not represent them,” a Homeland Security statement read.
Most Americans know TSA employees as the ones who grope them before they get on an airplane.
Travelers resent the security theater they have to go through because of make-work government jobs.
Keeping Big Labor’s beak out of TSA would prevent unions and their Democrat Party allies from creating another beachhead within the bureaucracy to create another fiefdom that is unaccountable to election results ensuring the left maintains power no matter who Americans vote for.
“The Trump administration is committed to returning to merit-based hiring and firing policies. This action will ensure Americans will have a more effective and modernized workforce across the nation’s transportation networks. TSA is renewing its commitment to providing a quick and secure travel process for Americans,” the press release concluded.
