Kamala Harris’s Campaign is Quickly Losing Steam
The house of cards is starting to crumble for Kamala Harris, and Democrats simply don’t know what to do about it to save her campaign.
Her team has desperately been trying to avoid putting her in a position where her weaknesses as a candidate are exposed like they were during her disastrous run for president in 2020.
But that can only work for so long as a major party nominee in the United States. There is always going to be a major spotlight, and all weaknesses will be exposed eventually.
Now Democrats are starting to chatter about whether Harris’s momentum is going to stall out as Election Day draws ever closer.
There are signs that it already is, and there may not be much that the party can do about it.
One Democrat went rogue and said the quiet part out loud about the party’s low expectations for Harris, and she is going to be furious when she hears it.
According to Breitbart, “Establishment Democrats remain concerned about preventing former President Donald Trump from completing the greatest political comeback in modern American history — even after President Joe Biden stepped aside for Vice President Kamala Harris.”
Top Democrat Strategist Admits That “Luck” is All Harris Has Going for Her
“‘She’s got luck,’ Democrat strategist Jim Manley told the Wall Street Journal. ‘The question is how long it’s going to last.’”
Manley probably should have kept his mouth shut if he wanted to stay in good standing with his own party.
After all, the official narrative is that Harris has breathed fresh new life into the party with her “joyful” campaign.
But the reality on the ground doesn’t look anything like that overblown narrative.
The article continues, “The concern spotlights Harris’s lack of a post-convention bump and the September 10 presidential debate, which will force Harris to speak about her radical record and how she plans to address the nation’s decline.
“National and swing state surveys show that Trump and Harris are statistically tied. In polling on specific issues, however, Trump holds a sizable lead, suggesting Harris’s so-called ‘honeymoon’ stage was a sugar high.”
“Chief among Democrats’ concerns is Harris’s track record on the economy, the number one issue in the 2024 cycle. Eighty-seven percent of Americans believe the Biden-Harris administration’s policies have either hurt or had no impact on inflation, a Monmouth University poll found in June.”
It’s going to be hard to convince voters to ignore the economy and their own pocketbooks and focus on vague notions of “joy” when they go to the polls to choose the next president.
The media has been trying to pump Harris up as an Oprah-like celebrity, but that isn’t actually what most people want in a president.
They want someone who will make the country better. And as one top Democrat strategist admitted, voters don’t seem too convinced that Harris is that person.
