FBI Director Kash Patel led the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Not everyone is happy with the job Patel did.
And what Kash Patel did after Charlie Kirk’s murder took everyone by surprise.
As per Swamp Digest reports:
Americans demanded answers about Charlie Kirk’s murder.
Who assassinated him?
Were there any ties to leftwing groups or foreign governments?
The FBI eventually arrested a pro-transgender terrorist who was radicalized by leftist ideology for Kirk’s assassination.
A bombshell New York Times report reopened criticism of FBI Director Kash Patel’s handling of the manhunt for Kirk’s killer.
Patel reportedly shut down an effort by National Counterterrorism head Joe Kent to investigate if foreign governments played a role in Kirk’s assassination.
“The head of the National Counterterrorism Center examined F.B.I. files in the last several weeks to investigate whether the man charged with assassinating Charlie Kirk had support from someone else, a foreign power or another entity, according to multiple people with knowledge of the matter.
The inquiry by Joe Kent, the director of the counterterrorism center, alarmed Kash Patel, the director of the F.B.I. Mr. Patel and other senior officials believed Mr. Kent was overstepping, treading on F.B.I. responsibilities and potentially interfering with the investigation and the prosecution of the suspect, Tyler Robinson,” the Times reported.
Patel and Kent’s boss, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a joint statement attempting to put this story to bed.
“The F.B.I. and intelligence community under the direction of President Trump will leave no stone unturned in the investigation of the assassination of our friend, Charlie Kirk,” Patel and Gabbard declared.
Ultimately, the FBI determined Kirk’s killer acted alone and murdered Kirk because of Kirk’s opposition to the transgender agenda.
But Patel clamping down a line of inquiry reminded many Americans of his missteps in the early stages of the manhunt where Patel falsely claimed the FBI had the shooter in custody.
“The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with @fbi,” Patel posted to X on September 10 at 6:21 PM.
A little over an hour later, Patel wrote that the FBI had the wrong guy.
“The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency,” Patel stated.
Controversy marked Patel’s tenure as FBI agents who manned the witch hunts against President Trump and the GOP as well as the botched release of the Epstein files raised questions about if Patel was the right man for the job.
