President Trump is under attack from all sides.
But unlike his first term, Trump has backup.
And Kash Patel went unhinged after this ESPN host attacked Trump.
As per Swamp Digest reports:
Patel and United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Joseph Nocella announced a bombshell arrest of more than 30 people, including Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups and former Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, as part of a gambling probe.
The arrests involved rigged poker games connected to the mafia where Billups allegedly participated in a scheme with marked cards and X-ray glasses to chat players out of millions of dollars.
The indictment also alleged that Billups – a former Hall of Fame player – tanked games as a coach and told bettors during the 2023 season that he was sitting several key players during a March 24 game against the Chicago Bulls in order to lose and improve the teams draft position.
Prosecutors alleged that Rozier told associates to bet the “under” on his player prop bets in games where they would pretend to be injured and leave early to ensure they didn’t hit the points, rebounds, or assists numbers for the game.
The NBA was a nerve center of the sports world’s resistance to Trump over the last ten years.
Championship teams like the Golden State Warriors wouldn’t visit the White House to protest Trump.
Their coach, Steve Kerr, spoke at the Democratic Convention.
The NBA’s biggest star, LeBron James, campaigned against Trump and called him a “bum.”
After Patel announced the arrests, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith declared this was just the tip of the iceberg, as more arrests of athletes were coming down the pike as part of Trump’s revenge tour against his critics.
“Don’t be surprised if the WNBA is next on his list, because when you’ve got all of these protests that have been going out there and people have been protesting against him and what have you, this man is coming,” Smith declared. “He’s coming.”
Patel responded to these allegations in an interview with Laura Ingraham.
The investigation began during the Biden administration, and Patel detailed the evidence against Rozier and Billups.
“Well, I can’t get into the nature of how we got on to this, but it’s been going on some time,” Patel stated. “As you can imagine, ferreting out a system where they literally had scanners at poker tables, where they literally had professional athletes in the NBA walk off the court so their proposition bets could be met, is a coordinated scheme with La Cosa Nostra and the individuals that we arrested today. And it’s been going on for some time.”
When asked by Ingraham to respond to Smith, Patel called the idea that Trump wanted revenge on athletes for protesting him the “single dumbest” line of attack in “modern history.”
“I’m the FBI director,” Patel told Ingraham. “I decide which arrests to conduct and which not to conduct. That may be the single dumbest thing I’ve ever heard out of anyone in modern history, and I live most of my time in Washington, D.C.”
