Time is running out until Trump makes his comeback to the White House.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are bracing for this reality.
They’re implementing a controversial change that no one can believe.
As Conservative Reboot reports:
Biden Tries to Undo Trump’s Changes to the Judiciary
One of the things Donald Trump notably did during his first term as president is overhaul the judiciary and nominate a large number of very conservative judges.
This famously led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court, as well as some other key cases on guns and other issues.
Most people on the Democrat side of the aisle were very unhappy by this development, and Joe Biden tried to reverse it when he took office as president in 2021.
But now that he has just a few weeks left in office, his time is running out to put progressive liberals in key judiciary positions.
That means Joe Biden and Kamala Harris need to hurry to get these people voted on and cleared before Trump takes office and cancels their nominations.
According to one report, that is exactly what they are planning to do during their remaining time in office.
Kamala Harris Needs to Break Ties in the Senate to Push These Judges Through
Here’s what NBC News is reporting: “Fresh from a devastating loss to Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris may now head to Capitol Hill to defy him in what could be her last major act in office.
“As President Joe Biden attempts to advance a crush of judicial confirmations before he leaves the White House, Democrats are bracing for the possibility of close calls in the process as they ambitiously seek to top the 234 judges Trump secured during his first term.”
Democrats want these judges in place as a strategic maneuver to try to slow down Trump’s agenda during his second term in office.
The hope is that these judges will strike down or delay some of his policies so that it is harder to implement the things that he is planning on.
The article continues, “It is an issue so important to the president — and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. — that it came up last week when Harris and Biden met for lunch in their first post-election meeting, three sources with knowledge of the meeting said.”
“A senior Harris aide said the vice president delayed her trip to California and Hawaii in the event that she would be needed for votes in the Senate to confirm judges. Harris was supposed to leave this past weekend but instead left Tuesday with the intention of returning to D.C. for needed votes.”
Judges are a key aspect of these votes Harris is planning on taking.
Leading Democrats know that the judiciary is a powerful branch of the government that can stifle a president’s agenda.
With Trump taking office, they want to mitigate how much he is able to do.
That’s why they are hoping that by pushing through these judges before he takes office, they can slow him down.
And that is apparently why Kamala Harris is racing back to D.C. to cast some tiebreaking votes.
