The Democrat Party postmortem after the election is turning into a circular firing squad.
Democrats want to blame everyone else for why Donald Trump routed them on November 5.
And Jen Psaki said Kamala Harris making this wrong choice lost the election.
Appearing on the Bulwark podcast, former White House press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki lamented that Kamala Harris – for no real reason – said she supported transgender surgeries for illegal alien prisoners.
“There was an ad that was run that was effective about Kamala Harris’s answer to an ACLU questionnaire and her answer for, like, a couple of months in 2019 about supporting the funding, paying for, gender-affirming care for undocumented immigrants in prison, right?” Psaki began.
Psaki referred to a 2019 ACLU questionnaire Kamala Harris filled out as part of her disastrous Presidential campaign in 2020.
“I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,” Harris wrote. “Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”
Psaki said that position was so far out of the mainstream that it defied belief as to why Kamala Harris would say she supports it.
“First of all, I don’t—I don’t know who supports that. Why would most people support that? So let’s just be clear about that,” Psaki continued.
Donald Trump pummeled Kamala Harris with TV ads containing the tagline “Kamala is for they/them and Donald Trump is for us.”
The ideological contrast in those ads played a pivotal role in Trump sweeping all seven battleground states.
But Psaki also showed that the base locked the Democrat Party into an ideological straight jacket on an even more unpopular issue – transgender surgeries for children.
Psaki told the podcast co-hosts that Democrats should die on the hill of allowing doctors to chop the breasts and genitalia off young boys and girls.
“That doesn’t mean that you can’t say, ‘You know what? There are kids out there who are struggling through mental health issues, who were born in a body they don’t feel like is their own,'” Psaki added. “And we can be humane and support that as a society.”
For a brief moment after the election, some of the left began to reconsider identity politics and woke ideology.
Jen Psaki’s comments here intended to make sure that moment of reflections was as brief as humanly possible.
Her comments on the Bulwark podcast showed that, at the end of the day, the leftwing base isn’t going to tolerate deviating from the transgender agenda but so much.
