Gavin Newsom Falsely Claims the Right Wing Is Taking Over the Media

Gavin Newsom wants to run for President in 2028.

Newsom knows there is only one way to win the Democrat Party nomination.

And Gavin Newsom threw down the gauntlet with Fox News over this bold move.

As West Wing Daily reports:

For years, mainstream media has had a very distinct leftward slant, something that people across the country have noticed, even those who do not support the GOP or conservative causes.

Networks are frequently owned and operated by people who support Democrats and have very liberal views on social issues, and that comes through clearly in the type of coverage they do.

The fact that the pendulum might swing the other way shouldn’t be surprising, as history does not remain static but constantly changes.

But some Democrats, like Gavin Newsom, appear to be threatened by the fact that conservatives are now starting to buy some of the most prominent digital outlets.

A group of investors including Rupert Murdoch are apparently considering purchasing TikTok in the wake of the controversy over its communist Chinese ownership.

And Newsom is warning that this is going to lead to total conservative domination of the news, despite the fact that there’s no evidence that America is even close to having that happen.

According to Benzinga, “California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) on Monday accused Republicans of ‘buying up platforms to control the news and information you receive,’ hours after President Donald Trump said tech and media moguls Larry Ellison, Michael Dell and Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch are poised to help take over TikTok’s U.S. algorithm as part of a pending deal.”

“‘This should not be treated lightly. The GOP are buying up platforms to control the news and information you receive. They are censoring you in real time,’ Newsom wrote on X, reposting a FactPost item that stated, ‘Reporter: Trump now says the tech billionaires Larry Ellison and Michael Dell plus the Murdochs could be part of the TikTok deal.’”

These are not extreme conservatives by any means, especially Ellison and Dell. It’s not like Trump announced that Tucker Carlson was buying TikTok.

But the fact that TikTok might not have a liberal slant anymore seems threatening to Newsom.

The article continues, “People familiar with the talks told CNN that any Murdoch role would likely come through Fox Corp., not the family investing personally, a move that could dovetail with Fox’s push into digital media amid softness in broadcast TV.”

“The White House over the weekend has said the emerging agreement would put Americans in six of seven TikTok U.S. board seats, with Oracle Corp. overseeing data and privacy and receiving a licensed copy of the recommendation algorithm to retrain on U.S. data, details officials say address national-security concerns while keeping the app running.”

This sounds like a much better situation than having TikTok controlled by a hostile foreign government, with the immense influence that it has on the minds of young Americans.

Newsom should be cheering the fact that Americans will now be in control of this powerful platform, instead of members of the oppressive and authoritarian Chinese Community Party.
