A new poll from the left-wing outlets The Argument/Verasight showed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez leading Vice President J.D. Vance 51 to 49 percent.
Fox News RINO Never Trump political analyst Guy Benson claimed the poll was evidence that Ocasio-Cortez could win the Presidency.
A stunned Fox Business host, Stuart Varney, asked if Benson really thought Ocasio-Cortez could win the White House.
“Yes,” Benson replied.
“I think if she ran for president, she would have at least a decent fighter’s chance to win the nomination. I don’t think she’d be the front-runner. I’m not sure she’d win it, but I think that there’s a real possibility that she could,” Benson added.
Varney asked Benson to make his case.
Benson argued that Donald Trump changed the mold of what is now electable in America.
“I think a lot of people on the left—think about this—they would have said a few years ago, ‘There’s no way Donald Trump could win again.” They thought the same thing the first time. It’s true. “There’s no way he could win again.” And then he did, pretty handily,” Benson stated.
Trump was a billionaire businessman and a celebrity ingrained in American pop culture for decades.
Trump also tapped into America’s populist sentiment.
Ocasio-Cortez is a socialist Congresswoman advocating for unpopular ideas, such as a total government takeover of healthcare.
Even though Benson acknowledged the latest government inflation report showed price increases cooling, Benson claimed the Trump economy might not take off and open a pathway for Democrats to recapture the White House.
“I think that absent leadership that can bring people together and satisfy people—and I think today’s report on inflation is excellent, right, for Trump and the Republicans in the near term—but if you just close your eyes and envision in 2028 an economy that people are frustrated with, and young people casting about for something new and different, and those demographics that shifted a little bit to Trump going back, there’s a path to victory for anyone with a D next to their name. And I think that’s true on the other side as well, depending on the political circumstances. I do believe that,” Benson concluded.
Benson is a Never Trumper who supports the endless wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
Benson also supports globalist trade deals and opposes President Trump’s tariffs.
Vice President J.D. Vance would run in 2028 as the MAGA heir.
Never Trumpers like Benson desire a return to the Bush-era GOP.
Ocasio-Cortez defeating Vance would serve the Never Trump faction’s purpose.
