Fani Willis May Face Perjury Charges Over her Testimony in Disqualification Hearing in Trump 2020 Georgia Election Case

Someone may end up in prison in the Georgia 2020 election case.

But it may not be Donald Trump.

And now Fani Willis is terrified that this smoking gun will lead to her arrest.

The walls are closing in on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Willis – an elected Democrat – thought indicting Trump for challenging the results of the 2020 election in Georgia would serve two purposes.

First, a criminal conviction would stop Trump from winning re-election in 2024.

But second, bringing this case would turn Willis into a hero to the far-left base and serve as a springboard to run for Governor in 2026.

However, all those plans were derailed thanks to Willis’s sex scandal.

Trump and his co-defendants filed a motion to get Willis disqualified from the case over a conflict of interest.

Willis brought her lover, Nathan Wade, onto the investigation as special prosecutor.

Both Wade and Willis faced allegations of self-dealing and honest services fraud because Wade used the taxpayer money he earned – $654,000 in a two-year period – to pay for the couple to take lavish vacations.

During the hearing, Wade claimed she and Willis only began their affair after she had hired Wade.

But witness testimony, cell phone data, and text messages suggested that testimony was false.

The Georgia election case is now on hold as the Georgia Court of Appeals hears an appeal of Judge Scott McAfee’s decision to allow Willis to stay on the case.

But according to Fox News legal analyst Paul Mauro, Willis has much bigger worries than getting booted off the case.

Mauro told Fox News host Harris Faulkner that a Georgia State Senate Committee is investigating Willis and has the power to subpoena her text messages – which Mauro referred to as the “Holy Grail.”

If Georgia Republicans get their hands on the communications proving Willis and Wade began their relationship before Wade joined the Trump investigation, that will be enough to indict Willis on perjury charges.

“Now the Senate there is investigating. They have subpoena power. She says she won’t respond. Let’s see if they can get her in. Here’s the Holy Grail there, especially with the case having gone up on appeal,” Mauro stated.

“You need to get the evidence of her texts and other material between her and Nathan Wade. You’ll open her up to perjury,” Mauro concluded.

Willis knows this investigation means big trouble for her.

That’s why she’s refusing to cooperate and plans to engage in a lengthy legal fight over appearing for testimony or turning over any documents.

“Well, first of all, I don’t even think they have the authority to subpoena me but they need to learn the law,” Willis told reporters when asked if the committee could subpoena her to testify and produce documents.

“Will you appear…?” a reporter asked in response.

Willis remained defiant.

“I will not appear to do anything that is unlawful. And I have not broken the law in any way. I’ve said it. I’ll say it among these leaders I’m sorry folks these people get pissed off that everybody gets treated equally,” Willis replied.

But the law isn’t on her side and Georgia Republicans believe they have the power to subpoena Willis.

And that could be the first domino to fall which leads to criminal charges against Willis.
