Erika Kirk Says He Husband’s Murder Hasn’t Changed Her Support for the Second Amendment

Charlie Kirk’s murder changed American politics forever.

The fallout is still being felt.

And Erika Kirk turned heads with this unreal confession about Charlie’s assassination.

As American Media Watchdog reports:

Erika Kirk picked up her fallen husband’s torch and carried on his work as the new CEO of Turning Point USA.

Kirk is now a leading political activist in the conservative movement.

And in an appearance at The New York Times’ Dealbook Conference in New York City, Kirk shut down the left’s attempt to weaponize her husband’s murder to band and confiscate firearms from American citizens.

Antigun activist and host Andrew Ross Sorkin – who once pushed for credit card companies to ban Americans from using their cards to purchase firearms – asked Erika Kirk if a pro-transgender terrorist killing her husband had her reconsider her views on gun control.

Kirk rejected that and said that, despite the tragedy she endured, she still supported the right to keep and bear arms.

“I wouldn’t wish upon anyone what I have been through, and I support the Second Amendment as well,” Kirk began.

Kirk went on to tell Sorkin that the issue is the political climate in America – particularly on the left – that condones and promotes violence.

“What I’ve realized through all of this is that you can have individuals that will always resort to violence. And what I’m afraid of is that we are living in a day and age where they think violence is the solution to them not wanting to hear a different point of view,” Kirk added.

Kirk explained that America didn’t suffer from a “gun problem,” but from a spiritual sickness rotting the nation’s soul.

“That’s not a gun problem, that’s a human — deeply human — problem. That is a soul problem, that is a mental [problem], that is a very deeper issue,” Kirk continued.

Kirk also addressed the moment from her speech at her husband’s memorial service where she said she forgave the left-wing terrorist who murdered her husband for his political beliefs.

“I don’t expect everyone to understand,” Kirk said.

Kirk admitted she was still angry at her husband’s killing, but forgiveness was just living her Christian faith.

“It’s not because you’re weak, it’s not because you think what the assassin did was correct,” Kirk concluded. “That’s the exact opposite. Forgiveness is… for those of you who’ve been wronged, you know what it feels like to forgive someone. And in a way, where it frees you from a poison, and it frees you to be able to think clearly and have a moment where your heart is free and you’re not bound to evil.”
