Alvin Bragg thought it was mission accomplished.

But then the other shoe dropped.

And Alvin Bragg had a knot in the pit of his stomach after learning this truth.

As SwampDigest reports:

The political repercussions for Alvin Bragg and the Democrats rigging a conviction against Donald Trump in a sham trial are coming into focus.

All along, Democrats confidently told themselves that a guilty verdict – any guilty verdict – against Donald Trump would do, and then – once they could brand Trump as a convicted felon – a Joe Biden victory would be imminent.

But that’s not how the American people reacted at all.

Polls from Fox News taken in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s conviction showed Trump leading Joe Biden outside the margin of error in Arizona, Florida, and Nevada.

In fact, Trump’s guilty verdict fell so flat, Trump was even tied with Biden in deep blue Virginia – a state Democrats have comfortably won in every election since 2008.

Party elites could sense this sham verdict didn’t move the needle because the public could sense the charges were made up and not of the serious variety.

CNN’s left wing activist Brianna Keilar whined to Democrat strategist Paul Begala – who helped guide Bill Clinton’s 1992 victory – that Americans greeted the conviction with a collective yawn and a shrug.

“Paul, what do Democrats do when it seems many Americans – and I know there’s certainly a question about if enough care – but many of them, they just don’t seem to care that Trump is a felon,” Keilar complained.

Begala knows how to read a poll and judge the mood of the country.

And Begala’s advice to Democrats was to ignore the conviction and focus on the issues the American people actually care about – immigration, inflation, crime, and the economy,

“Right,” Begala agreed. “And I think that’s why the Democrats have to make this about your life, not Donald Trump’s. I mean, it’s always, you know, I was politically raised by Bill Clinton and he would always say, you know, elections are about the voters’ lives, not ours. And Democrats need to take this to that message, of, ‘We’re here for you.’”

Democrats know any election featuring an incumbent President on the ballot is a referendum on that President.

And they know Joe Biden can’t win when inflation has outstripped wages, the economy is in the tank for regular folks, the border is wide open, and Soros-backed DAs like Alvin Bragg let criminals run wild on the streets.

Democrats thought indicting Trump over and over would change the algorithm.

But the American people know a show trial – and conviction – when they see one.
