President Trump Calls Out Fox News for Ambushing Him With a Gotcha Question

President Trump isn’t always happy with how Fox News joins the liberal media groupthink.

This was one of those times.

And Fox News just sucker punched Donald Trump with this dirty trick.

As American Media Watch Dog reports:

Trump slammed Fox News after guest Peter Schiff claimed Trump’s economic policies were worse for America than Biden’s.

“Why would Fox and Friends Weekend (of all things?) put on a ‘Stockbroker’ named Peter Schiff, a Trump-hating loser who has already proven to be wrong. Either the show made a mistake, or it is heading in a different direction,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump pointed to declining prices as evidence that his administration was making headway on the affordability crisis created by Joe Biden and the Democratic Party’s inflationary spending spree.

“He thinks prices are going up when, in fact, they are coming substantially down. Gasoline hit $1.99 a gallon yesterday in certain states, and is down BIG since Biden. Other prices are almost all down. Biden caused the AFFORDABILITY CRISIS, I’m fixing IT, along with everything else! Much of it, like the Border, is already fixed. Check out the “booker” who put this jerk on!” Trump concluded.

In the segment in question, Schiff falsely claimed Trump was going to make inflation worse.

“Well, you know, unfortunately, Trump economics has too much in common with Bidenomics,” Schiff told host Griff Jenkins.

Schiff claimed Trump continued Biden’s runaway government spending.

“You know, the biggest problem is the runaway government spending that is continuing under this administration,” Schiff added.

The federal deficit in fiscal year 2025 is actually 2 percent lower than in 2024 due to President Trump’s spending cuts.

When Jenkins brought up the declining gas prices, Schiff claimed other commodities were increasing in price.

But most other prices are higher. I mean, yes, they’re not rising at nine percent a year yet, but they’re continuing to rise. And so if people couldn’t afford things before Trump was “elected, those things are more expensive now. And I think that the inflation rate is going to accelerate, you know, as Trump’s term progresses and you know the policies continue to impact prices,” Schiff continued.

Schiff then claimed the interest rate cuts Trump clamored for would send the deficit skyrocketing.

Trump promised progress on affordability.

Some prices are coming down.

He latest report also showed inflation cooling more than expected.

President Trump believes one reason polls show Democrats are poised to make gains in the 2026 midterm election is that media outlets like Fox News paint a misleading picture of the economy and don’t give him enough credit for tackling inflation.
