Pete Hegseth Slams Media for Anti-American War Coverage

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was sickened by what he saw on CNN.

Hegseth jumped at the first opportunity to set the record straight.

And Pete Hegseth destroyed CNN on live TV – what he said has liberals furious.

As American Media Watch Dog reports:

From the moment Operation Epic Fury began, the liberal media sought to undermine the war, depress public support, and even root for Iran.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had had enough of the media’s sabotage and called out the press to their faces during a morning press briefing.

Hegseth singled out CNN for what he called fake news in a report where CNN claimed President Trump never prepared for Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz and send oil prices shooting up over $100 per barrel.

“Fake news from CNN reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran war’s impact on the Strait of Hormuz. Patently ridiculous, of course. For decades, Iran has threatened shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This is always what they do, hold the strait hostage,” Hegseth said during the press briefing at the Pentagon,” Hegseth declared.

Hegseth called the idea that the administration didn’t consider Iran closing the Strait “fundamentally unserious” and jabbed the network, saying he can’t wait for Paramount to merge with CNN’s parent company so new owner David Ellison can take over.

“CNN doesn’t think we thought of that. It’s a fundamentally unserious report. The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better,” Hegseth exclaimed.

Hegseth also cited an example of fake news designed to derail the war effort.

“Another example of a fake headline that I saw yesterday. War widening. Here’s a real headline for you for an actual patriotic press. How about Iran shrinking, going underground?” Hegseth added.

CNN chief Mark Thompson pushed back, claiming CNN was committed to facts and the truth.

“We stand by our journalism,” CNN’s statement read. “Politicians have an obvious motive for claiming that journalism that raises questions about their decisions is false. At CNN, our only interest is in telling the truth to our audiences in the U.S. and around the world, and no amount of political threats or insults is going to change that.”

Critics mocked the idea that CNN was an organization committed to fact-based journalism.

Host Abby Phillip apologized for falsely claiming that two ISIS-inspired Muslim teens were arrested for throwing a bomb at New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani when, in fact, they were arrested for throwing a bomb at pro-Israel protestors.

Commentator Paul Begala lied when he said Hegseth spent millions of dollars on steak and lobster meals for himself when the steak and lobster were a “surf and turf” meal for the troops.

President Trump tagged CNN with the “fake news” label years ago.

It stuck for a reason.
