The shooter who tried to take out Trump was a very scary individual.
More details are emerging that show just how dangerous he is.
And one crazy detail about him has left people stunned.
Ryan Routh, the man who camped out on Trump’s golf course with a rifle in an attempt to take his life was a very unstable person.
This was quite obvious to people who knew him during his everyday life, and now they are speaking on the record about this disturbed man.
Routh lived in Greensboro, North Carolina, for many years, before bizarrely picking up his whole family and moving them to Hawaii.
His neighbors in Greensboro remember him – in fact, it seems like they could have never forgotten him since his behavior was so strange even back then.
They described being afraid of him as he seemed to have a tendency towards violence and appeared to be somewhat unstable.
This intuition turned out to be correct years later as he turned up on a golf course in a sniper’s nest trying to murder the former president of the United States.
According to Fox 8, “Routh previously lived in the Greensboro area before moving to Hawaii sometime this year. Neighbors say he and his family moved to Hawaii in May.”
“A woman who lived next door to Routh in Greensboro spoke to FOX8 on the condition of anonymity. She said she has known Routh for nearly two decades.”
“The neighbor described Routh as unusual, but said she could have never expected him to be involved in something like this.”
Clearly no one thinks their next-door neighbor is going to turn into a political assassin, but this woman did seem to think something was off about Routh.
He had a lot of weapons, and neighbors must have had a sense that they weren’t for self-defense, as guns are not an inherently unusual thing in North Carolina.
The article continues, “The neighbor said she wasn’t surprised to hear about guns being involved. She claims to have seen guns in Routh’s home over the years.”
Here’s what the woman said: “I’ve seen the guns myself and all, and, yeah, they had a lot of guns and stuff over there, and, yeah, a lot of people were afraid of him back in the day.”
Routh was obviously a strange man who had a fascination with violence and a dangerous obsession with politics that led to extreme left-wing views and a vicious hatred of Trump.
This obsessive hatred sent him down the rabbit hole and made him feel like he had to be a “hero” – at least in his own mind – by committing this terrible act.
Law enforcement nearly failed to stop him until one Secret Service agent noticed his weapon and decided to take action, firing shots at him and saving the life of Donald Trump.
Thankfully no one was hurt, but this is yet another story of how a man developed a dangerous obsession and it almost became tragic.
