Liberal Media Falsely Accuse Pete Hegseth of War Crimes

The swamp never gave up on scheming to destroy Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth is facing incoming hit pieces like never before.

And the fake news media spread this unthinkable lie about Peter Hegseth.

As American Media Watch Dog reports:

Democrats and their allies in the media ran wild with the idea that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth committed a war crime by ordering a September 2 lethal strike to blow up survivors of an initial strike on a drug-running boat in the Caribbean.

“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a spoken directive, according to two people with direct knowledge of the operation. “The order was to kill everybody,” one of them said,” the Post reported.

A missile screamed off the coast of Trinidad, striking the vessel and igniting a blaze from bow to stern. For minutes, commanders watched the boat burning on a live drone feed. As the smoke cleared, they got a jolt: Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck,” the Washington Post exclusively reported.

Killing unarmed combatants violates the Geneva Convention, and the press claimed Hegseth’s “double tap” strike order would land him in prison.

Department of War spokesman Sean Parnell called the narrative the Post ran with “misleading.”

And days later, Americans found out this was just the latest hoax by deep state sources to frame a top Trump ally.

The New York Times – of all places – published a story that clarified events.

“According to five U.S. officials, who spoke separately and on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter that is under investigation, Mr. Hegseth, ahead of the Sept. 2 attack, ordered a strike that would kill the people on the boat and destroy the vessel and its purported cargo of drugs,” the Times reported.

Hegseth never ordered the military to kill unarmed survivors of the initial strike.

“But, each official said, Mr. Hegseth’s directive did not specifically address what should happen if a first missile turned out not to fully accomplish all of those things. And, the officials said, his order was not a response to surveillance footage showing that at least two people on the boat survived the first blast,” the Times report continued.

Hegseth also didn’t order the initial or follow-up strikes.

“Admiral Bradley ordered the initial missile strike and then several follow-up strikes that killed the initial survivors and sank the disabled boat. As that operation unfolded, they said, Mr. Hegseth did not give any further orders to him,” the Times went on to report.

This is an old story in the Trump era.

A fake news media outlet runs wild with a story based on anonymous sources that paints a misleading picture of events.

Democrats and their media allies treat allegations as fact.

And then the truth finally comes out and exposes the hoax.
