And that’s because J.D. Vance clobbered Chuck Schumer with this nasty curveball.

Democrats colluded with the media on a new hoax centered on the lie that President Trump is responsible for the affordability crisis.
The lie even showed signs of working as a POLITICO poll found 46 percent of voters blamed Trump for inflation compared to 29 percent who blamed Biden.
It was on Joe Biden’s watch that inflation skyrocketed to a 40-year high.
Vice President Vance pre-empted Democrats’ affordability hoax in 2026 by telling Americans he understood their frustrations with inflation, but that President Trump inherited a mess and that progress was being made on lowering prices.
“My message to the American people who are still feeling like things are unaffordable, who are still feeling like things are rough out there, is, look, we get it, and we hear you, and we know there’s a lot of work to do. There’s a lot of wood to chop because the Biden administration put us in such a very, very tough spot,” Vance stated.
Vance previewed this message in an earlier interview with Breitbart.
“The thing I’d ask for the American people is a little bit of patience. This economy was not harmed in 10 months,” Vance stated. “And as much progress as we’ve made, it’s going to take a little bit of time for every American to feel that economic boom, which we really do believe is coming.”
Core Consumer Price Index inflation averaged 2.5% percent in Trump’s first ten months in office.
Gas prices fell below $3 a gallon in 22 states.
President Trump expressed frustration that the fake news media were ignoring these successes to instead focus on the lie that he was responsible for the affordability crisis.
“I inherited a MESS from the Biden Administration — The Worst Inflation in History, and the Highest Prices our Country has ever seen. In other words, Affordability, just 13 months ago, was a DISASTER for the American People, but now, it’s totally different! Prices are coming down FAST. Energy, Oil, and Gasoline are hitting five-year lows, and the Stock Market today just hit an all-time high. Tariffs are bringing in Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and we are respected as a Nation again,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“When will I get credit for having created, with No Inflation, perhaps the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country? When will people understand what is happening? When will Polls reflect the Greatness of America at this point, and how bad it was just one year ago?” Trump concluded.
Republicans are betting that as Trump’s tax cuts kick in and the reality of Vice President Vance’s affordability message registers with voters, Republicans’ 2026 prospects will begin to brighten.
