No one had seen anything like this before on Fox.
No one hopes they have to again.
And a Fox anchor began to cry on camera over hearing this sad story.
As Conservative Revival reports:
Meghan Drye’s parents and 7-year-old son Micah were three of those killed in Hurricane Helene.
The Dryes lived in Asheville, North Carolina, which was ground-zero devastation the likes of which no one had ever seen.
Appearing on Fox Weather, Meghan recounted the gut-wrenching story of how flood waters swept away Micah.
But Meghan Drye explained that when the waters ripped Micah – who Meghan said had hoped to dress up as a superhero for Halloween – away from her, he began screaming for Jesus, which Meghan said made Micah her hero.
“I’m so proud of my son because, in his last moments, he wasn’t screaming for me. He was screaming, ‘Jesus, Jesus, save me. Jesus. I hear you. Jesus. I’m calling upon you.’ He wanted to be a superhero. And that was his goal in life. And instead, he’s my hero. He was the smartest, bravest, hopeful, great friend, great son,” Meghan stated.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better son. And he was so happy up until the very end when he was screaming for Jesus. And in that moment, I think he found joy,” Meghan added.
At that moment the Fox Weather anchor, Marissa Torres, broke down in tears over the power of Micah’s faith and Meghan Drye’s ability to lean on Jesus to process her grief during a time of unspeakable tragedy.
Meghan Drye also told the story about how a higher power saved her life from the ravaging flood waters. “In the midst of the chaos, all I heard was God telling me to be still and to stop fighting the water,” Meghan recalled. “That was Him, that was prayers. That was prayers that told me to be still and to let the water carry me to where I needed to be rescued.” Meghan told the Fox Weather anchors how she followed the voice’s instructions which led her to safety. “When I did let go, I heard the voice say, ‘You still don’t fight the water’ and then I ended up in between the two carriers that stuck with me the whole time,” Meghan continued. Meghan revealed that the tragedy her family experienced in Helene left her “broken” but that she knew she would make it through thanks to faith and prayer. “My grief today is unfathomable. I’m sorrowful. I feel broken,” Meghan concluded. “But what is the main thing that I take away from grief is the uplifting of all the prayers that I have received.”NEW: Fox weather anchor starts crying on live air as a mother describes the final moments of her son’s life before he was swept away by flooding from hurricane Helene.
