The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in President Trump’s favor and upheld the administration’s policy of detaining illegal aliens and barred lower courts from releasing them after ICE took them into custody.
Attorney General Pam Bondi cheered the ruling.
“MASSIVE COURT VICTORY against activist judges and for President Trump’s law and order agenda! The Eighth Circuit has held that illegal aliens can be detained without bond — following a similar ruling from the Fifth Circuit last month,” Bondi wrote on X.
Bondi added that this decision shut off the floodgates of rogue Democrat judges, opening the floodgates to turn illegal aliens loose back in the streets as soon as ICE took them into custody.
“The law is very clear, but Democrats and activist judges haven’t wanted to enforce it. This administration WILL. Imagine how many illegal alien crimes could have been averted if the left had simply followed the law?” Bondi concluded.
The Eighth Circuit joined the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in smacking down outlaw Democrat judges trying to thwart President Trump’s illegal alien crackdown.
This ruling held special significance because the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals covers Minnesota, where Democratic judges set over 10,000 illegal aliens free after ICE arrested them.
Left-wing supporters of open borders fumed over this ruling.
“AWFUL”, pro-open borders activist Aaron Reichlin-Melnick ranted in response to the ruling. “This will effectively foreclose most of the [bond hearing] habeas lawsuits coming out of Minnesota, and hands ICE a major win.”
Democrats counted on lawfare to gum up the works on mass deportations.
Open borders advocates could race to the nearest Democratic judge to win a ruling freeing illegal aliens on bond.
The left knew that the appeals process would take time, and the spring tens of thousands of illegal aliens from ICE detention.
But slowly but surely, the Trump administration is winning these cases as they move beyond the home turf of rogue Democrat judges and into fair courts.
